Wow, just saw that highlight of Gardiner giving the puck away 3 consecutive times then icing it, brutal.

At least two of those were passes that his target just didn't take. The first one was really the only poor decision on his part I think.

The second one to Franson ( I think ) was kinda bush. I already forget the third one...

Lol, Gardiner took a beating from the TSN panel.

And he deserved it. Wow. Seriously, I don't really see what Gardner brings. Certainly no toughness, if he has speed, he rarely shows it. He has no point shot whatsoever. He seems to specialize in waiting off forecheckers. He's supposed to be this amazing skater, but I just rarely see it.

Franson should have known Gardiner was going behind the net. He was too slow to get his stick to the boards.

The third one was when he kind of chipped it up the left boards and I think JVR was in front of him and JVR didn't really skate into it and the Sabre player picked it up. That one was iffy. JVR was too close to Gardiner so maybe he should have gone for a different target.

And the 4th one that ended up being an icing could have just as easily resulted in a Kessel rush. And I'm pretty sure they were down by 2 at that point so the risk was worth it.

He had all kinds of time on the one to Franson, no need to whip it like that but Franson has looked slow all game so, yeah. Actually I don't think any but the first one had any kind of real pressure, I still think the sequence was pretty brutal overall.

That said, I don't mind letting him make mistakes and learn from them, as long as he learns.

Offensive zone faceoff for the 4th line down by 2 goals.

Ending up in the Leafs zone with extensive pressure on the Leafs net and an icing by any chance?

I like Clarkson's game tonight.  And before someone starts I don't care about his contract.  I am only talking about what he is bringing on the ice and tonight is what I was expecting.  Well and a few points of course.

This team needs a baseball hat upside their collective heads but the only thing I see happening is a Gardiner or Franson trade as the shakeup - two things I do not want to see. I have seen Gardiner's lack of hockey sense all season despite his incredible wheels. He still ruins around in his own end and chases the puck carrier regardless of where he goes. He reminds me of Adrian Aucoin. Fantastic skater but could never put it together. I want Gardiner to have more time with the Leafs.

I've posted ad nauseam that RC needs to go but I'm tired of posting this. The only small thing I have to admit to is that I was worried about his hard-a** approach that he used in Anaheim and Winnipeg (AHL) not fitting in with the Leafs - and I already didn't like him for that as soon as he was hired. To his credit he has appeared in his interviews and pressers to be a likable guy so in that aspect I was wrong.

I wasn't wrong about his coaching however.

He's been pretty good the last 5/6/7 or so games

I think him paired with Bolland and Raymond/Lupul could be very interesting.

D'Amigo has been a pleasant surprise.  I had actually forgotten him as it's been a few years without even a whimper about him.  I had just assumed he was never gonna make it to The Show.  Good on him for working hard to make the dream.
