Saturday night

Well, I actually did drive to the store and rented a Blu-Ray from a movie rental store. I just thought it was normal, and it's cheaper than renting a movie from Shaw on Demand, or itunes.

:-\

Not to mention that a good local video store can have a lot of things that our fine corporate overlords at Rogers and Bell may not.

Went to our local symphony orchestra concert tonight.  Wagner, Brahms, more Wagner, Saint-Saens, Gliere, and Tchaiko.  It was great.  I think it's stupid that the Leafs don't play every Saturday night but was glad this was one of the few they didn't.

FAQ: http://www.redbox.ca/help

It's just a touch screen dispensing machine.  Credit card payment, return by 9pm the next day, otherwise it goes as another day's rental cost.  It's mostly new releases and generally popular films.  The number of copies of a film apparently range from one to several dozen, depending on the popularity.  It's fairly rarely I've found it out of stock when looking for a specific film.  Our local Redbox is in a Metro grocery store open until midnight most nights.

I just hate wierd sat nights like this in the winter. my only choice for a Hockey fix would have been the Mon-Pitt game. No thanks, the only way I watch the Habs for a whole game, is if its against us. so I watched a movie, and gave the Wife a foot rub. can you say brownie points. ;D

I walk by those redboxes at the local Safeway's all the time. I hadn't thought to even look at them to see what they were. lol.

I'll have to give it a try.

$4 for a bluray at the local video store. Can't beat that.

$2 for a Blu-Ray and $1 for a DVD at the local Redbox machine.  Beat it! ;)

$0 for (slightly out of date) DVDs at the local public library. :)

They eventually do get the newer movies in, if you're patient like my wife and I are. :)

Borrowing movies and music from the library sounds an awful lot like file sharing programs to me.  I wonder if the big media companies will crack down on intellectual property infringement of the libraries and library users.  You know call it "stealing" and file lawsuits; that sort of thing.

True, we do that too, but mostly for older movies.

Is taking out a book not doing the same thing?

The movie and music industry went about piracy and handling the internet the wrong way.
