SCF: Pittsburgh Penguins vs. San Jose Sharks

Pittsburgh  3  Sqn Jose  1.  Penguins win series 4 games to 2.

Congratulations to the Pittsburgh Penguins on being crowned Stanley Cup champions!

And to Captain Sidney Crosby on winning the Conn Smythe Trophy as playoff MVP.

Whoa!  What a way to go for Sid & co.  Also, nothing could be sweeter or more satisfying than to watch the much-maligned Phil Kessel -- (are you listening Mr.Simmonds??) -- get the honours of hoisting Lord Stanley's silver chalice.

As someone who still respects Kessel for all the years of excitement he provided Leafs fans, I say, setting aside all that followed later, congratulations to you, Mr.Kessel.  Way to go!

And what of the San Jose Sharks?  What a great season and playoffs they had.  Well, what can one say.  It would have been a dandy for them to have won it instead, in their 25th year as a franchise.  Nothing to be ashamed of.  Good work, Sharks, and San Jose fans should be proud of their team.  I know I would be if I was them.

A lot of Crosby's magic doesn't show up on the box stats.

Magic isn't real dude.

Tough for Kessel to lead the team in goals and points and not win the MVP.

MVP? I'm surprised they even let him play, what with him being so overweight and lacking in defensive skills!  :)

But seriously, I'm very happy for Kessel.

As much as I hate it that Kessel is a Stanley Cup Champion, he deserves it.  He played the perfect role as a player you add to complete the build of a Championship team.

A Crosby and Malkin are players you can build a team around.  Kessel is definitely not the type of player you can build a Championship team around.  That's why he failed as a Leaf. JMHO.

Congratulations Phil!
