Second Round: Boston vs. Columbus

So sick of Marchand and his bull#$#%. If the NHL truly wanted to get rid of this kind of crap they'd give him a game.
Hope Babs was watching that PP goal by CBJ. Their 1st unit stayed on for 1:53. Play your best and your chances increase.

Babcock will learn nothing.  Marchand has zero points in this series after dominating the leafs on the PP.

Watching this series really highlights just how bad babcock is at everything outside of 5 on 5.  Every single team uses their 1st PP unit for over a minute.  If the leafs had the puck cleared with 1:10 left they were changing.

Say what you will about our own little hot head, Kadri will hit you in the face.
Interesting that retaliations get a stronger response from DoPS than inciting actions.

If I'm interpreting this correctly, punching an unsuspecting player in the back of the head is now legal as long as the referees aren't watching.

Where's the escalation in penalty that exists for serial offenders? This isn't just some rookie taking a swipe at completely vulnerable player. It's Brad frigging Marchand. His rap sheet is a laundry list. What a joke, complete double standard. And agreed Carlton, this sets a dangerous precedent.

I'm fine with internal discipline. The GM will strongly condemn any punching to the back of heads in situations where they might get caught.

Lol

"Like we've told you every other time you did something people didn't like that went unpunished - don't do it again, because, next time, we'll seriously consider the possibility of maybe looking into the idea of doing something about it."

NHL: we need to eliminate headshots to reduce concussions and head trauma.

Also NHL: sucker punches to the face (Chara on Tavares) and back of the head (Marchand) are ok.

Harrington is a former Leaf so it makes perfect sense that the NHL would consider it acceptable for a Bruin player to punch him in the back of the head.

Hate the play but I don't believe it was an intent to injure. If it anything it's ammunition for CLB. Stupid play.

What other reason is there for punching someone in the head?
To irritate, like smacking your little brother in the back of the head. It wasn't vicious.
Disagree, it was a pretty solid punch AND from behind so the recipient wasn't prepared for it. If you're facing the player and take a swing at him at least he has a chance to prepare for it and possibly respond.

This is exactly the kind of crap that needs to be removed from the game. Too bad the ref can't call a penalty that would carry over to the start of the next game in these kinds of situations.

If Boston makes it through I'd love to see Carolina go on with the upset. Still, what a weird playoffs.
