sens @ Leafs - Feb 1st, 7:00pm - CBC, TSN 1050

What a fun game to watch.

Kessel was incredible, Bozak was also awesome tonight, huge defensive play before scoring the deal-sealer.

Not a great game for Bernier, but the rest of the team owes him at least a few...

Kessel's 2nd goal was ridiculous. What a snipe.

As for Kadri's hit that led to Lupul's goal, while it was certainly dangerous, if you watch closely, Ceci begins to turn towards Kadri ever so slightly. It looks to me like he saw Kadri coming and stopped turning thinking Kadri wouldn't hit him. He pretty much put himself in a vulnerable position. I don't think Kadri will see any supplementary discipline but it wouldn't completely surprise me if he did.

Wow, what a night by Kessel.  As Phil the Thrill goes, so do the Leafs.  Also, another great game by #43.

Whenever the Leafs win, we all feel good.  Right now, with the Leafs position in the standings, the outlook for this team is beginning to reign with plenty of optimism again.

GO LEAFS GO!!!

Man, it sure must stink to watch an opposing player score a big goal after he just illegally hit one of your players into the boards.

I think Shanny will be calling Kadri tomorrow.

(There's a joke in there you're missing.)

It's the same joke from earlier isn't it?

I was just focused on potentially losing Kadri again to suspension. I didn't like the hit too much, Leaf fan or not.

Didn't watch the game but that Kadri hit didn't look good. What's everyone's thoughts on fines/suspensions? I'm betting the hit from behind earlier in the season comes into play.

I see the papers, and some on here jumped all over the Kadri  hit. Once again, why did the press not jump on the hit on Gleason it was worse?. He even went off  with a sore neck. Yet One of our guys has a bad hit and its front page news.  It's looking like they are looking for the bad, instead of the good when reporting the Leafs.

Kadri's hit was much worse than the one on Gleason.

You should focus more on learning the meaning of "there" as opposed to criticizing anyone who comes close to making a somewhat negative statement about a Leaf player.

Ceci saying he turned his back to him might negate any suspension, if there was even going to be one. I doubt there will be a suspension.

Let the booing commence! Oh wait, the stadium is fill of Leaf fans in Ottawa. Never mind.

No, a bad hit is a bad hit. All I am asking is why if its the Leafs doing the crime, is it getting pointed out so much more then if its the team doing it to us.
Ceci  went back to continue playing, while Gleason went off with a possible neck injury, and you call the hit by Kadri worse??????

Opps, sorry I forgot you were one of the grammar police. I will try harder Boss (All messed up now that I made a error).

What I don't like is that Kadri must have known early on that Ceci had his back turned, yet he completed the check and finished it with some extra effort.  That's at least boarding, and I can see a case for suspension.  And with Kadri's recent history, it could be bad.

Here's what I mean.  Here's Kadri about a full second before the hit.  He has his hands up ready to make the hit; Ceci's back is already turned.  At this point, this is going to be a hit from behind unless Ceci turns somehow:

And here's Kadri a few frames later, same thing: Ceci is still all numbers and hasn't moved an inch.  He is not in motion and turning his back only at the last second, he's just standing there.  Kadri is still lining up his hit anyway.

And then watch the video to see how hard Kadri dumps him anyway:

It's obviously boarding and should have been 2 minutes, that much is clear.  But a suspension wouldn't surprise me, either.
