Series 30: Jays at Athletics

It's pretty amazing what Mark Buehrle continues to be able to do.

It's too bad the Jays pretty much have no chance of bringing him back.  He wants his dogs and wants to be closer to his kids.  I'm assuming he signs with one of the mid-west teams if he keeps playing after this year.

Agreed, which is why AA should at least consider moving him at the deadline to a legit contender as a rental. If you move him to a team like the Cards or Cubs there may be a bit more of a return as he may play there beyond the rest of this year.

The best strategy would be to see what, if anything AA can get to improve the pitching on this team prior to the deadline. If he strikes out in landing the necessary pitching improvements then you deal Buehrle last minute to the highest bidder.

Very disappointing loss last night. Bases loaded, no out, Donaldson, Bautista, and Edwin up, Donaldson strikes out, Bautista walks, Edwin strikes and then Navarro pops out. Defensive woes continue with an error leading to a run.

I don't think AA will trade for a rental. He wants someone who still has some term left.
Would explain why the name Carlos Carrasco popped up in connection to the Jays.
