Series 47: The Final Homestand - Yankees @ Blue Jays

Bautista just had his best throw in about 3 years out of RF.  Gunned Dustin Ackley out going for 3rd.  The ump called him safe on a play where he was pretty clearly out and replay fixed it.

2-2 with 2 outs and runners on 1st and 2nd for the Yankees in the 7th.

Makes sense to bring in Drew Hutchison for his first relief appearance in what 3 years and the first time he pitches in forever in a 1-run game in the 9th inning.  Gibbons decisions of late are really, really stupid.

Every time a relief pitcher doesn't pitch well it's not Gibbons' fault.  He makes decisions that look good and decisions that look bad every game - within the last two games he's made a number of each.

Hutchison isn't a relief pitcher.  He has thrown 1 inning of relief (A+ ball in 2013) in the last 5 years.  A 1-run game against the Yankees with the division still very much on the line is not a time that you bring him in.

And then Navarro hits a home run off the untouchable Andrew Miller!

Good move by Gibbons.  Martin was due up as a pinch hitter for Kawasaki but after the Pillar double he pulled him back for Hague so that Martin will pinch hit for Revere after the intentional walk.

Donaldson is really throwing a wrench in his MVP candidacy. He's been awful this month.

I'm shocked the Jays got a run off Miller.

McCann with a bunt single (bad throw by Donaldson)
Navarro with catcher interference puts a second runner on.
Bird hits a 3-run home-run.

The heart of the order had the bases loaded twice in the 8th and 9th inning and did nothing with it.

It's hard to praise him for good bullpen decisions when good bullpen decisions are almost always automatic. I'll give him credit for using Hendriks in that situation though.
