Stanley Cup Final: Tampa Bay Lightning vs. Chicago Blackhawks

Chicago just hasn't allowed Tampa any time to get their shots off.  They are all rushed and they can't hit the net.

A nice pass by Richards there.

Well that'll do it. Remember when Tampa could score? Can't wait to hear what Johnson's been playing though. Just a completely different player.

Whatever the Hawks have done to build this team over the last 10 years, the Leafs need to figure it out and copy it.

3 Stanley Cups in the last 6 years.  5 Conference Finals in the last 7 years.  Yeah, that's a dynasty.

The Blackhawks horribly overpaid for Timonen at the draft but it's nice to see a really good player win a Cup at the end of his career even if he had very little to do with it.  I'm assuming that means Olli Jokinen signs with Chicago in the offseason.

Definitely. It may not be the what we traditionally think of as one, but this is how dynasties look in the NHL today. Continuous success like this in a cap system is incredibly impressive.

I'm pretty sure the addition of Timonen put them over the edge.

We need to convince him to come to T.O.

Hey, grade on a curve all you want but the world's tallest midget is still short.

The last time Chicago won the cup on home ice (1938), the Cup wasn't even in Chicago.  Funny that it happens again.  It seems odd to me that the Cup wouldn't be in the city ahead of the game when you know it is a deciding game.

Chicago fans are so jaded. They're practically just clapping polietly right now. I don't care what people say about Leafs fans, when they win the Cup the ACC is going to explode 4 times over.

It is, but there's really no denying after hearing that unanimous announcement that a lot of Chicago's success is built on contracts that can't be signed any more. So the idea that this is a template for a kind of imitable success going forward is pretty dubious.

Bishop played through a groin tear suffered in game 2.

Hard not to imagine how different things could have been had he remained healthy throughout.

Dead chuffed for Timonen, though.

Johnson played through a broken wrist suffered "early in the Final":
