Lamoriello said unsigned defenseman Anton Stralman returned home to Sweden but could still be in the Devils' plans.
"He went back home. That doesn't mean he's out of the picture," Lamoriello said. "Right now nothing can be done."

He has some nice double speak there.  We don't want him enough to offer a contract, he left, but we will still be willing to bring him back over as an injury replacement.  A rough translation I know.  I think stralman stays in sweden for some time.

Rangers make contract offer to Stralman

The bad news for the Rangers, who also have Sauer on the IR, is that it apparently may be a sign Staal may not be back any time soon.

I still think the Rags should have given McCabe another go.

He just scored his first of the year.  He's quietly have a really solid run with the Rangers, glad to see him back in the league.

New York, NY (Sports Network) - The New York Rangers re-signed free-agent defenseman Anton Stralman on Thursday.

No terms of the deal were released, but reports state it is for $3.4 million over two years.

The 25-year-old Swede collected two goals and 16 assists in 53 games, while posting a career-best plus-9 rating for the Rangers last year.

Good for him. I really thought he developed into a pretty good bottom pairing defenseman last year.

Wow he's only 25yrs old?  Seems like forever since he's been with the Leafs.
