Franson seems to be giving Phaneuf a run for his money as best Leafs defenseman.

MotM: Master Phil Kessel.
HM: JvR.

Now, if you'll excuse me I have to go watch my alma mater win the national hoops championship.

McClement, Phaneuf, Komarov, and Bozak all had really strong games as well. Franson and Fraser looked good except when they went up against the Nash line for some reason (and of course had the goals scored on them). That's not exactly surprising for anybody paying attention.

Back to Kessel though, even before the goals were scored I thought he was having a fantastic game. There were a number of occasions where the defence jumped into the play to keep it alive and he backed up to cover them. I know I'm hardly the first person to notice this but he really is doing the little things that maybe he never did before.
