Yup, you know you're a junkie when you're changing the date and time on your phone to get a new set of lives. :D

A friend of mine plays on her phone, iPad and computer, so she gets 15 lives per cycle.

Sherry got up for work this morning and our car won't start. Jake and I went out to try it and no luck. So Jake/Sherry borrow Sarah's car so they can get Sherry in to work. They got out on 401 and had to stop suddenly and Jake hit the car ahead of him - likely $2000 in front end damage. He was charged with careless, $500 fine, 6 pts. As a new driver, he'll lose his licence as they only have 6 pts on a G! licence. We'll obviously fight it.  Yeah, that's my morning.

Rick man, I'm sorry, that totally sucks. Definitely and absolutely fight it to get it lowered and hopeful not lose too many points or any points at all. I know it's costly but you may want to consider getting a points guy to take care of this.

Our son had an accident 4 mths after he passed his G1 road test. Going to the dentist, making a left (with his sister in the car) and it was a yellow light, guy didn't stop and hit them on the front passenger side (close to the passenger door). Totalled his car, daugher had a sore shoulder and he was charged with an "improper left hand turn". He didn't drive for 4 mths after that as he was too scared. He ended up getting the ticket thrown out because we fought it and the officer didn't show up to the first date and then the next date was almost a yr later and when it came around, we filed some papers because it was over a yr old.

Long story short, he totally lucked out in the end but he did learn a lesson. That was 2 yrs ago and he is a much better driver now, more careful and concientious. He passed his G2 road test back in July (went for a few more driving lessons) and then did his test. The worst thing about all of it, is your insurance.

In the end, both of them were not hurt and are still here and that is ALL that matters.

It's always to be better safe than sorry. I'd rather give up my right of way and be safe than know that I'm right but get hit regardless.

NHL 14 comes with team rosters dating back to right before free agency. Bolland and Bernier are on the team but so is Grabovski. No Bozak/Clarkson.

The first roster update, which i believe was available when the game was released fixes all that.

How badly does it screw up the rest of the roster/prospects?

I bet Jerome Flaake is still there.....lol

No Live though. I never understood why EA didn't allow you to download them via usb.

So a public school in Port Colborne is not allowing students to dress up in Halloween costumes, and instead is encouraging them to wear orange and black to celebrate "Spirit Day".

Society has become a bunch of sensitive, politically correct sissies.  Ugh.

This is not a new concept. My daughter's schools have been doing 'spirit days' for halloween for a while now.

My wife, who is a principal at a near by school explained that it was done for a couple reasons. One being that children don't decide whether or not they celebrate halloween, their parents do. To shove halloween down the throats of these kids wouldn't be right as they would feel left out in front of their peers if they did not dress up.

Two, with many poor families in the area, costumes for some children just don't happen. Again, to avoid alienation of children among their peers, they've decided that it's easier to do a 'black and orange' day.

Three, with the dangers involved in many of the costumes these kids are wearing, the schools do not want to be held responsible for inspecting every kids costume to make sure some kid isn't going to walk in front of a school bus or something to that effect.

I heard about this...and I've yet to meet one person who thinks it's a good idea.

I don't think it's society that's going sideways, I think it's that people are afraid of speaking out against stuff like this for fear of being labelled.

Honestly, it's a special kind of asshead that makes decisions like this.

That is some grade 'A' Wyoming horsefeathers reasoning right there.

Spirit Day?  ???

Are you an X or a Y, Potvin? I'm not sure what I am; a late Xer I believe.

I'm both! I'm right on the cusp of where they usually define the cut off - right around 1980.

I'd agree if it weren't for the fact that a lot of people seem to think "Hey, it's Halloween. You know what would be really fun to do? Blackface."

yep. The elementary school my kids went to (last one was more than five years ago now) didn't allow costumes after about grade 3. They've done that stupid orange and black day since about 2005. And their excuse was 'inclusiveness' ?.. claiming that there are children in the school whose families don't celebrate Hallowe'en, so because 10-15 kids don't, the other 550 can't.

Don't get me started  >:(

Quite frankly, I think they're right. It's not the kids choice. Why should those 10-15 kids feel left out and shunned by their peers because their parents choose to have different beliefs?
