The Official Gaming Thread

Relatively, yes. There's guides online. If all you want is the old school games, all you need is a big enough SD card. If you want to get Wii games as well, you'll need an external HD.

A 16 GB SD should be big enough to fit all your old school gaming needs. That's what I'm using, and like I said, I have pretty much every old school game you could ask for.

Wow that's awesome. I may have to get a wii for cheap just for that now.

Otoh, I think I'm finally sold on the 3DS. All the games look nostalgic and fun. Plus that new Zelda game is a direct sequel to A Link to the Past -  my favourite Zelda game,  and apparently could be the best one since Wind Waker.

A modded Wii is a wonderful thing.

I followed an instructional on youtube. It wasn't overly complicated. There's a couple programs to download for your PC but not much too it.

I have a 16GB sd card(I believe) and then an external 250GB HD also attached.

Cool, thanks. So it's just a software mod? I'm just looking to add a few old school games. I'll give it a shot!

Yup. Just make sure you're using the right mod for the OS on your Wii.

Don't know if anyone here is playing grand theft auto online but hackers and modders have completely ruined the game.

They have figured out how to manipulate one minute jobs that should pay maybe 800 to 1000 dollars to paying BILLIONS! What they do next is the killer. They share the money with everyone in the session.

Without doing a thing, I had just started he game up, I was gifted over $150,000,000.00.  A completely insane amount of money that is virtually impossible to spend. This happened maybe a week ago and now it's rampant. I'm constantly being given money.

Apparently Rockstar is shutdown for the holidays but I don't know how they fix this issue.  Rockstar must be pissed because they were also selling cards. I think $20 of real money would get you 1.25 million GTA money.

I've now got a quarter of a billion dollars and I've heard stories of people with trillions.

My nephew was telling me about the billions he has in GTA.  What was most impressive is how he feels entitled to it.  In GTA and real life.

Message from Rockstar:

In regards to reports of hacking and cheating in Grand Theft Auto Online, we are working on a fix that will remove any GTA$ gained through these blatant exploits, as well as prevent this from happening in the future. We'll also be taking appropriate measures very soon to punish anyone that we've discovered manipulating GTA Online in this manner (as we've stated previously, players who have received large sums of GTA$ but not engaged in any game manipulating through exploits can rest assured Uknowing they have nothing to fear).

If you have been gifted a large sum of money or collected a large bounty and would like to have the money removed from your account immediately, you can submit a request to us to have your balance properly adjusted. Otherwise, the money you've been gifted will be removed once our upcoming fix is in.

I've gotten myself addicted to the popular The Simpsons Tapped Out game on Android. I need to add a friend... anyone?

I'm using it, and by screen name is, not surprisingly, bustaheims.

I'm at my wits end with NHL 14. It's simply the worst hockey game I've ever played. I just decided to buy the Mass Effect Trilogy pack. I've never played that type of game before so I'm not sure what to expect. It should keep me plenty occupied though. Not much else to do when I'm on call ;)

I got a beta code for Titanfall. Holy crap it's amazing.

I wanted it, but the beta's only available for PC and Xbox 1 (my PC isn't fast enough, and I only have a 360).  I'll have to wait for the final product around mid-march.

Saw lots of gameplay footage, though - looks awesome sauce.
