I'm using Rogers for both cable and internet.  So far no real problems with them.  Wondering if anyone is getting deals with them?

Internet is Rogers Hi-Speed Extreme Plus  $77.99
Enhanced Wi-Fi Modem Rental  $8.00
download Up to 45Mbps2

upload Up to 4 Mbps

maximum 150 GB/month

I have TekSavvy.

$51.95, 35 Mbps, 300GB monthly cap (unlimited between 2am and 6am or something)

Bought the modem for $99.

I use Eastlink for the phone and Internet as my only other option here is Bell and I'm not a big fan of their capped Usage on the internet.

Unlimited Usage

Upload is only 1Mbps
Download is 20Mbps

I'd like more, but I do enjoy the price point. I essentially get my phone and Internet for $85 a month with the taxes.

I'm with Rogers, also. I'm using the package a step below you, Rick. So, base price would be $67.99 per with $8 modem and 35 mps up, 3 mps down, but, because I also have cable and a home phone, I was able to upgrade to unlimited bandwidth for an extra $10 a month. On top of that, I've been getting 30% off per month and the modem for free, so, all told, after taxes and everything, I'm paying ~$65 per for unlimited bandwidth with pretty good speed. My discounts are expiring, so, I'm going to calling in the next few days to see what kind of deal I can negotiate this time. I'll let you know if I come up with anything better than what I've been getting.

I used to have the package you did Rick but I kept bumping up against the bandwith cap so one time when I was on the phone with them they offered to upgrade me to unlimited usage for some small additional charge(10 bucks?) so I got that but took a slower, cheaper option. I'm paying roughly 60 a month for unlimited downloads and 25 mbps down/2 mbps up.

I'm going to see if they'll do this for me.  It's the kids downloading music and movies, and Sherry and I streaming tv shows that is maxing us out.

Although that raises an interesting question that one of you more tech-savvy folk might help me with. As I said I took the slower, unlimited option but am I missing something without the speed? We're able to stream Netflix in HD no problem, websites load in less than a second and downloading stuff is fast enough for me so is there something I'm not aware of? Because it's pretty hard for me to see what I was paying extra for.

If you don't have a home phone with them, they'll try to tell you they'll only do it for $30 extra per, but, a few of my friends have talked them down to $10. The key is to be friendly, polite and to move up the chain of command as much as you can.

If you don't have a bunch of devices trying to use the bandwidth at the same time, you're probably not missing out on anything. I only have the higher speed because it came with twice the bandwidth I initially had and they offered it to me at a discount before they had the $10 extra for unlimited deal available.

That speed is good for streaming and downloading fairly quickly.  From what my daughter's tech-geek gamer boyfriend - you notice the speed differences in online games.

Ah. I confess that is an arena that is sorely untested in this household.

To go to unlimited internet it will be $10 if you have the trifecta of TV, internet, and home phone. If just TV and internet, then it's $30 to go unlimited.

Then they're paying for home phone as well, even if it's a promo price. I can speak from experience on that.

No, they're not. Other friends have had similar experiences to you. It really depends on how high up the chain of command you get. The lower levels don't have as much freedom to get around those details.

Helps with houses with multiple renters. My friend rents out her basement, so there's four youngish adults all watching Netflix and heavy online gaming, and downloading movies while doing the other things.

Well there you are then. We should be just fine with just the two of us, neither of whom know our Call of Duties from our Killzones.

I'm in the same boat as you. I think I've "upgraded" to the 25Mbs package, I really don't notice a difference.

Your upload might be crappier too. I work from home with a VoIP phone. With the slower internet service, netflix works, but there's a distinct chop on my voice when I'm talking to people on my phone, they hear it, I don't. Only way to fix it was to upgrade my internet.

I also downloaded a bunch of Green Lantern comics at 1.5mbps. You'd probably have to settle for 800 kbps.

I'm with Shaw for phone, internet and TV.

Internet is $60.00 and includes 200GB and a 20Mbs down/7.5 up.
TV package is $56.90 and includes family package and entertainment package (no HBO or anything like that.)
Phone is $15.00
Bundle discount of $5.

Total is 126.90 + tax
