Useless Thread

I had green cooperalls.  The town I played for had Minnesota North Stars original N logos.  It was kinda cool at the time...

Pretty good Rob Ford interview on Humble & Fred yesterday.  Polarizing guy but he's on the "rebound" trail and will most likely be a huge threat in the next mayoral race.

Don't think he should bother.  We have a capable mayor in Tory and we don't need anymore "Ford antics".

Not to sound demeaning here, but, truthfully speaking, I always saw Rob Ford as a far better representative as a councillor.  That's what he should stick to being, forget the mayoralty.  Glad that he is well and should stay healthy.  That is the most important part in and of his life right now, and, for the future.

That's the thing though, he is going to bother and he'll have huge support.  I can already see the story about him being a "changed man" when he decides to enter the next race.

I'm in Toronto on Nov.17 and thinking of attending the game vs. the Avs. What's the best way to get a ticket? Since I only get to a game once a year or so, I'm willing to spend a bit to get a decent seat.

StubHub might be your best bet, but there's often people selling tickets on places like kijiji and craigslist.

Honestly, this year things might be very different than in years past. I wouldn't be surprised, although I wouldn't recommend it necessarily, if people did ok via scalpers.

Never dealt with a scalper, but do they usually charge above or below face value for a Maple Leafs game?

Usually above until after the game gets going. From that point, they're often open to sell tickets off cheaper so they don't take a total loss.

Well, it's like anything. It depends on the demand. Tickets for Leafs games is usually high, so it's usually above. But the same is true with any secondary ticket market. I don't use StubHub myself but I'd guess that for a Leafs/Habs Saturday night game they don't have much at face value either.

Yeah, I've seen $250+ for purples for Saturday night game against the Habs.

You can get into the lower bowl for as low as $150 per seat for that game.

I didn't check this ticket but watch for obstructed view. They mean it.  I bought Leafs tickets last year for $150 and I literally could not see the one net and almost 1/4 of the ice.  It was terrible.

Another mass shooting on a school campus in the US.

At least 10 confirmed dead and another 20 injured.  The gunman was shot and killed on the scene.  Truly sad.
