One really notable thing I have been watching Matthews with the last few games. When he gets the puck on the half boards he is usually so good about being able to turn around and shield the puck with his body and keep the puck moving. This year he gets closed off and can't fight off the defender and gets squeezed off a lot. It's really painful seeing how limited his cycle game is right now.

I can't blame Treliving for making the moves he did and at least he didn't blow the 1sts on rentals but I don't see how the Leafs are going anywhere post-season with Auston the way he is — whatever the hell the problem is.

Team lately has looked like they are just going through the motions a lot of the time. Almost like they have nothing to play for (except maybe first place).
