Jokes aside, it's too bad. I remember listening to the St. John's broadcasts when Wellwood played there and he used to carry the team on his back. The man with the magic mittens. It really sounds like he's his own worst enemy.

With 18, 19 and 18 goal seasons respectively in his past 3 seasons, I wouldn't say Wellwood has turned out all that bad.

I remember a game where he played under Pat Quinn.
Kyle was cruising by the opposition's net and a puck came his way and he tried to shoot it through his legs into the goal.
Quinn was furious about the hotdog move and when a reporter asked him about it, he said something like "If he keeps pulling moves like that, he'll be watching from the press box!"
