R1, G3: sens vs. Maple Leafs - Apr. 24th, 7:00pm - SN, Fan 590

It's crazy and I'm not used to this, and I'm going to give Stolarz a pass on the second goal he's been stellar, still cautiously optimistic but this team looks good right now.
He's been awesome for sure but he can't let shots like that in. Goals like that can change the series/season. Leafs should have and deserved to win in regulation for their stellar defensive play. Let's hope that's the last of the softies.

I will also give him the pass on that one shot, he's been unreal.

Did I read we held the Sens to only 2 shots in the last 21 minutes of this game? 😲😀
In the 3rd periods and OTs of the last two games, shots are 18-7 Leafs. Games were either tied or the Leafs up by one throughout the entirety of that roughly 45 minutes of hockey. When it's mattered the most, the Leafs' have absolutely been in control.

It's funny, the last time the Leafs went up 3-0, it was Cory freaking Cross that scored the OT winner. I went back to Youtube to watch it, almost the same spot as Benoit, the big slapper, and both goalies have Marvin the Martian on their respective helmets. :ROFLMAO:

The difference is that Cory Cross sucks and Benoit is clearing awesome.

Too much control, perhaps.

Like Woll’s penchant for long shots going in, Stolarz plays better when he sees more puck. He has let in two on the first shot of the third when the Leafs control play to the point of no shots until 10 minutes into the period.

Joe Bowen said that yesterday on his call, Cory Cross DeJa vu

K this is pretty stupid. I get the league not liking this type of shenanigan during warm ups (not expecting pucks from that direction) but I doubt anything happens
It should have been a pretty simply "hey, don't do that again", not leaking to Dreger things about investigations and possible discipline.

The Cousins thing is stupid. I think he's actually friends with Stolarz (and not just because they played in Florida together). It's a nothing event....although I think we should just suspend him before he tries to run Matthews from behind when the Leafs are up 4-1 with 10 minutes left in Game 4.

I think the biggest thing with the Leafs so far is they aren't giving up the momentum goal. Yes Ottawa tied the game in the 3rd period in back to back games but it wasn't like they came back and tied it 30 seconds after we scored. That was what happened every time we played Boston/Tampa. The Leafs would score...Boston would press and then a goal would tie the game back up.

Some of that is our goaltenders don't suck. Some of that is our defensemen actually clear the net and don't let guys whack at the puck a dozen times. The team is playing under control.

Now the Panthers might run the Leafs into the ground with their added physicality but I think we see a better fight than 2 years ago if we play the Panthers.

The league just doesn't like these kind of bush league shenanigans in the warmups. As mostly harmless as it seems, it's one of the few things they've been pretty consistent about it. Doubt it results in anything more than "don't do it again, or it will cost you."
