R1, G4: sens vs. Maple Leafs - Apr. 26th, 7:00pm - SN, TSN 1050

I expect nothing to come of this

Agreed, Leafs appear to be being good sports about it. I don't think that's a good thing, who cares if they accuse us of whining. We all know if that was Domi giving a "soft high shoulder hit" to Tkachuk the series would be over for him, and the media would be talking about nothing else. (quoted is a comilation of adjectives I came across talking about the brutal elbow to Tavaris' head miles away from the play).

Robertson needs to be in the lineup. He just needs to control his stick and carelessness. Regardless if Ullmark gets hot and Sens sneak out another win it can go either way. Funny series. I don’t think we are deserving to be up 3-1 but they definitely should have won last night. Matthews needs to play like he did down the stretch when he took over games. I haven’t been pleased with his game.
Totally disagree with your Matthews view. His line gave up 2 shots last night. They haven't been on the ice for an even goal against. He was the best player on the ice in game 3. His defensive play has been exceptional. It was very good again last night. Yes we'd love for him to score every game but that doesn't happen with anyone. The line has outscored the sens 5-0 at even strength.

Lorentz-Laughton-Jarnkrok has been good. I'd be hesitant to mess with it. I would swap out 67 for 89 and possibly sit Domi and put 64 in the middle. At least 64 isn't a moron and is better defensively.
He's not sitting Domi so if 89 is going back in, which he should be, L2 needs a boost with someone who can play a good solid 200ft game. Laughton has the speed and a better scoring touch then 29. L4 has been good but it's not a threat to score. i think Holmberg or Kampf could fill in as 4C and the line wouldn't miss a beat.

Leafs don't pay him to be a defensive specialist. Sure you want all players to be responsible defensively but he gets paid to produce. The even strength play is great but they also gave up a shorty and whether to single out one guy that's on all 5 of them. You have to recognize the situation and he possible could have started to come back when Nylander was in trouble as well as Mitch I believe. Knies is more noticeable than Matthews. Last week or so in the reg he was in beast mode some nights. Using his body hitting I figured maybe he was feeling good health wise. Also on the PP they should be getting him the puck and shooting more. Hurt or not he's the highest paid player in the league I for one expect more.

"The chances of going 1-13 in deciding games is beyond the probabilities that any quantum computer could ever calculate....especially when you are the favorite."

------ Said Stephen Hawking

"The legendary Leaf players known 20 years ago as the "Core4" in Matthews, Marner, Tavares and Nylander went 1 and 15 in deciding games before they were broken up after getting knocked out of the first round in 2025.

20 seasons later and it's a record that no other team nor player has come close to breaking. A true spectacular feat in professional sports that stuns even the Dallas Cowboys and Buffalo Bill's to this day."

I had a few zingers lined up in case the Leafs swept, so that kinda got ruined.

"Another series where Marner had 0 points in games 5,6,7".

And

"The Sen were better 5-on-5".

Hopefully they can wrap it up at home in Game 5.

May as well shut down the franchise if they find a way to lose this series.

- said everyone in 2021 when up 3-1 against Habs
Look not to bring up old wounds, but 1, the covid seasons can go to hell, and 2, people always seems to go to gloss over that mtl went 8-2 against Winnipeg and Vegas.

At the end of the day, the leafs blowing that lead was pathetic, and I make no excuses for it, but no one ever gives Vegas and Winnipeg shit for not even showing up against these guys.

But I can’t emphasize this strongly enough, every professional sports league can shove their covid seasons up their own asses.

The proportion of teams that eliminated the Leafs and went on to the Cup final is absurdly high. Very few didn’t at least win their next round.

Rewatching the game..... is Domi the dumbest player on this roster? He butts Pinto 2 feet from the referees nose. Even Mr Magoo would have seen that totally stupid move.

And the worst part is that Ottawa scored in a game that was won by one goal.

If you are going to sit Robertson for this type of thing........ Domi should sit out G5.
