Springer having one of his better seasons with the Jays has been a pleasant surprise.
I didn't expect any of this...I'm genuinely surprised they're tied for 1st in ALE.Just came here to write what a resurgence Springer is having this year. I did not expect this.
If they can clean up the collapses by the pitching they'll have a real shot of being there at the end of the regular season.I didn't expect any of this...I'm genuinely surprised they're tied for 1st in ALE.
I hope it's sustainable...they're getting contributions all over the place, and it's not like Guerrero and Bichette are carrying the load at all.
That's the most encouraging thing to me - and it's not like they're having bad years, either, they're just not having excellent years, either (Bichette has been slightly above average while Vladdy is starting to heat up after producing at roughly his baseline). Everyone is contributing.I didn't expect any of this...I'm genuinely surprised they're tied for 1st in ALE.

Shhhhhhhhh, I'm afraid to acknowledge what's happening. It's been a lot of fun to watch of late.I’m enjoying this as much as anyone, and rack up those wins while you can, but the nagging part of my brain says this could easily fall apart over a 2 week stretch. The last few years have left me skeptical.
What I really find encouraging is the smart aggressive base running and the cut down on strike outs and the ability to hit heat. The thing I'm enjoying about it is they seem to have a bit of that looseness about them they had a few years back before they got all serious and are enjoying playing.
I dunno if that's cos they're winning or why they're winning, though.
But it's nice to see.
