2025 Blue Jays

Jays about to face off with the Yankees over the Canada Day "weekend"

45-38 record and currently sit in the 2nd wildcard. Only team in baseball with a negative run differential in a playoff spot.

Just came here to write what a resurgence Springer is having this year. I did not expect this.
I didn't expect any of this...I'm genuinely surprised they're tied for 1st in ALE.

I hope it's sustainable...they're getting contributions all over the place, and it's not like Guerrero and Bichette are carrying the load at all.

If they can clean up the collapses by the pitching they'll have a real shot of being there at the end of the regular season.

That's the most encouraging thing to me - and it's not like they're having bad years, either, they're just not having excellent years, either (Bichette has been slightly above average while Vladdy is starting to heat up after producing at roughly his baseline). Everyone is contributing.

I’m enjoying this as much as anyone, and rack up those wins while you can, but the nagging part of my brain says this could easily fall apart over a 2 week stretch. The last few years have left me skeptical.
Shhhhhhhhh, I'm afraid to acknowledge what's happening. It's been a lot of fun to watch of late.

The thing I'm enjoying about it is they seem to have a bit of that looseness about them they had a few years back before they got all serious and are enjoying playing.

I dunno if that's cos they're winning or why they're winning, though.

But it's nice to see.

What I really find encouraging is the smart aggressive base running and the cut down on strike outs and the ability to hit heat.

I’m giving Garcia a pass for yesterday, first game off the IL, but they need at least 1 more starter. Maybe Brandon Morrow is available.
