The waiver window has officially opened. Lots of guys on waivers today, though, probably no one worth claiming:

And just like that the Sabres cap problem is solved (assuming they're reassigned to the AHL after they clear).

Well, their cap problems are eased, yeah. I don't know about solved. Depending on how they configure their roster, they might not have enough cap space to add players when short-term injuries pop up.

Does Buffalo have that kind of cash to pay these guys to play in the OHL?

Not saying it would happen but could the Leafs lose all 4 guys on waivers or is there some rule if one guy gets claimed you can't lose all of them or something?  I'm making it up so it sounds good to me.

No, they could definitely lose them all. They won't, but they could.

By most accounts all 4 of them are nice guys and everything but really, are any of them going to be all that difficult to replace... For next to or completely nothing?

Considering they're unlikely to get anything more than a cup of coffee with the big club this season? No loss. Other than Caputi, I wouldn't even blink if any of these guys were claimed.

Ive never seen the big deal on Caputi anyway..
I think he's been replaced by depth. Caputi did make the team last year if it weren't for the numbers, and then getting hurt really killed his chance here, for now. Looks like we gave Poni away for nothing when all is said and done.

Yeah, I mean Poni's just played his way out of the NHL. We gave up nothing to roll the dice. If Caputi is claimed then there's an issue. If he isn't we'll still have him as trade bait, even if his stock is significantly lower than it once was.
