2011-2012 Waivers thread

Isn't the daily waiver deadline 12:00 pm each day? I'm surprised no news... Or at least news that there is no news.

Tomorrow is the deadline for Sunday's waivers. I assume no one waived on Saturday was claimed - they cleared today.

Maybe they're asking themselves: "has anyone regressed as far and as long as Cheechoo has and come back to be a productive NHL player?"

I'm sure there's the odd exception but it has to look pretty grim for his future in the NHL.

Flyers fans seem to love Sestito... I would DEFINITELY take a flyer on Hamill.

TSNBobMcKenzie: All players on waivers yesterday cleared. Today's waivers: McKenna (OTT); Fischmon,Marcinko,Wallace,Reese,Wishart (NYI); J.F. Jacques (ANA).

TSNBobMcKenzie: More waivers: C McDonald,Nick Johnson,R Craig,Munroe (PIT); Alex Henry (MTL)...that is all.

Wishart might interest someone, but, that's about it.

Today's waiver list:

Ryan O'Marra (EDM)
Ryan Keller (EDM)
Josh Green (EDM)
Gilbert Brule (EDM)
Garnet Exelby (DET)
Chris Connor (DET)
Doug Janik (DET)
Joey MacDonald (DET)
Logan Pyett (DET)
Ryan Russell (CBJ)
Kyle Wilson (NSH)
Darryl Boyce (TOR)
Matt Lashoff (TOR)
Joey Crabb (TOR)
Anton Khudobin (BOS)
Alexandre Picard (PIT)

Matthew Corrente (NJ)
Peter Harrold (NJ)
Jay Leach (NJ)
Tim Sestito (NJ)
Stephane Veilleux (NJ)

I think Columbus might nab Khudobin to shore up their back-up slot, and there's a few defencemen Edmonton might make a claim for, but, that's it.

I don't know about the other guys but I don't think Lashoff would be a terrible pickup for the Oilers given what I've heard about their D.

Thought that little guy really buzzed it up against the Leafs. Don't know much about him but he earned some respect with his effort.

I'm not saying I'm interested. Just appreciated him giving his all.

How long do teams have to pick someone up.
I really don't want to lose Crabb or Boyce. Good energy guys and i thought they filled in pretty well last season.

Crabb and Boyce are probably safe. Every team has similar players on their AHL teams.

Oh i agree. I like the continuity of keeping them though. Should help the Marlies as well.

However, if everyone clears it creates a real log-jam in the forward ranks.

True but then they'll make cuts to the Marlies and ship them to the ECHL.
