Fair enough.  Pretty equal to, obviously being very, very different.

Yeah, I think those two and Rudy Gay are the guys in the conversation anyway.

What?  No love for Adam Morrison, JJ Reddick, or Sheldon Williams?  ;D

Paul Millsap is probably the 4th best player and he went well into the 2nd round.  Really the only guy from the 2nd round who made it.

So I was watching the Lakers-Clippers last night and it was pretty amusing seeing Ron Artest's jersey now say "World Peace" on the back.  The commentators had a few good chuckles about it.

For those of you that don't know, Ron Artest officially changed his name to Metta World Peace.

Raps win 104-96.

Pretty balanced attack: Calderon and Derozan with 15 pts each, Barbosa and Davis with 14 each and Bargnani and Johnson with 13 each.

Calderon also had 11 assists.

DeRozan's nine points in the final six minutes of play put the game out of reach for the Cavaliers.  Good road win.  Hopefully they can keep up the playing momentum, fwiw.

A pretty sloppy game for the most part.  You could tell neither team had any rythm on offense.  A lot of guys weren't knocking down shots they'd normally hit.

Good game from Collison.  Not sure if he's the right guy to lead the offense but 12 assists, and 10 points is a pretty solid game from your PG.  I absolutely love the David West signing.  George hill looks pretty useless so far but it's only 2 games.

I thought this was interesting (and to an earlier discussion Nik and I were having about the Pacers cap space):

The Pacers are actually under the NBA floor for salary. If they don?t bring a player, they will have to cut a check to the league.

I thought that was interesting.  Instead of forcing teams to bring in unwanted players or sign players to inflated salaries the team just has to cut a cheque for the balance to 'get to the floor.'  It's not ideal for the team as, at the end of the day, they are just throwing money away, but it's better than signing players you don't want and restricting yourself that way (i.e. having a player take up a roster spot, playing time, restricting further trades, etc).

Perhaps the NHL should look into this?  Florida would likely have not made all those signings this past summer for example.

I watched the last two quarters... It's early but I think they flashed a stat that read that the Raps gave up the most points in the paint last year vs 2nd least (so far) this year. Pretty impressive turn around and great all around defense.

You have to put that in context though. The Raptors have played Cleveland twice and then the Pacers, Magic, Knicks(without Amar'e) and Mavs once. The only real interior scoring threat they've gone up against was D12 and he went 19/15 on them.

And the schedule doesn't get much harder for a while.  Still, you have to be impressed with the efficiency from Calderon, Derozan, and Bargnani.  They are playing extremely well.

Oh, I know... Still, 1st time they've given up less than 80 since '99?

Um, no. Maybe the first time they've given up less than 80 to the Cavs since '99.
