Man did Kaberle go south quickly.

It's really quite sad. Kabs was my favorite Leaf throughout the 2000's.

Someone is going to suggest we pick him up. It's going to happen.

Same here, aside from Sundin.

Ditto.  And in truth, I was for re-signing him not trading him.  I expected him to be able to keep playing at a high level for at least several years.  What a mistake that would have been.

Maybe. Maybe not. He might have retained his game if he stayed where he was comfortable. I'm not sure he's really felt at home with any of the teams he's played for since he was dealt. Not that I'm advocating claiming him. I don't see him recovering his game this season.

I completely agree. I felt bad for Kaberle. Not for the fact that his skills have diminished since leaving(I personally don't think they have that much), but for the fact that the city of Toronto essentially put a for sale sign outside his house and ran the guy out of town.

I think that's being overly dramatic, his situation was much the same as all other ageing set to be UFA veterans.

I don't think there was any malice involved.

If your planning on moving Liles out at the deadline, if the price is good, having Kab's there isnt a bad idea. If we were to run into injury problems who are you going to turn to?

you turn to Gardiner. i think Liles and Jake play similar styles so its hard to have them both out on the ice at the same time or in the lineup at the same time. I would try and move Liles out for a stay at home D man to play with Gardiner on the bottom pairing.

TSNBobMcKenzie: Waivers today: Kurtis Foster (PHI), Mike Santorelli (FLA), Steve Montador and Rostislav Olesz (CHI), Hall (TB) and Barker (VAN).

Oh, Tampa. Trade for Hall, put him right back on waivers. Classic.

Steve WHYzerman.

Former stars as GMs ... not always a good idea.  Wondering about his future, and Nieuwendyk's.

Generally, I haven't minded either of them as GMs so far.

Real_ESPNLeBrun: Mike Santorelli picked up on waivers by Winnipeg jets

Real_ESPNLeBrun: Flyers claim Adam Hall on waivers from Tampa

Hall's 2nd stint in TBay was a short one.
