I wouldn't take that one as any indication that an agreement is near, just that the owners want something significantly longer than what's been offered so far.

I'm not so sure. If these talks break down, we could very well be looking at things like the season being cancelled, PA decertifying/disclaiming interest and the league suspending operations until they have a union to negotiate with all happening in short order. We're getting awfully close to D-Day on this season and the PA have already publicly brought up the nuclear option . . .
