mirtle: Blue have signed Barret Jackman to a three-year deal. There goes another unrestricted free agent.

Brad Stuart is set to sign for three years with the Sharks as well.

DarrenDreger: Stuart agrees to 3 year contract with Sharks at $3.6 per. Takes less to sign with a team that's a good fit.

Clearly not the same calibre as those two, no but nobody is talking about Hudler... If we move Kulemin or MacArthur, he could be a nice player in the top 6 along side Grabo I think.

If the team moves MacArthur, Hudler would be a logical target. Not so much Kulemin, though. If he's moved, the team would desperately need a top 6 winger with size and a willingness to use it.

Well, maybe we move both... JVR/Kane // Grabovski / Hudler.  ;)

I'd rather see Kadri and or Frattin get their shots there.

I'd like to see them get shots too but maybe on the third line (for now.)

Yeah. I mean if there's need for another speedy little sniper then Hudler would be ok but those two need a look. Also, he'd probably be real expensive.

Is he leaving Winnipeg or something?

There's whispers that he may want out and won't negotiate a contract with Winnipeg.

Is that coming from any real legit source?

Edit, never mind I see it's being discussed in another thread.

DarrenDreger: Without scouring the twitterverse to see if this is already out...Darren Helm agrees to 4 year, $8.5 deal in Detroit.

mirtle: Josh Harding re-signs with the Wild on a multiyear deal.

Didn't see that coming. Maybe Backstrom is available?

I'd rather Pavelec @ 4 mil on a multi year deal than just one year of Backstrom @ 6 mil.

I'm not sure I would. With Pavelec, you're paying for the hope that he becomes more consistent and, therefore, more than the fairly ordinary goalie he's been so far (on top of paying him to stop him from bolting to the KHL). With Backstrom, you know what you're getting.

I'd want at least some sort of half-baked decent feeling he could be re-signed. Failing that, no thanks.

Hang on... What if he could be traded at the deadline for as much as he was acquired for? Now that's something I'd consider.

If Backstrom is our goalie then we're probably in the playoffs, or at the very least battling for a spot at the deadline. He wouldn't be getting shopped at that point.
