How would you determine possession to start OT? Should it just continue from where it left off in the 4th?

It's not that they determine possession with a coin toss that I have a problem with, its that both teams don't get an offensive drive. The NCAA has a better format IMO.
i could go for that too. but what happens when team A scores then B scores back then A scores again. shouldnt B also get a second drive?  why should one team be punished if both teams defense are garbage.

I don't get why they couldn't just do like the NBA does, play for a set time and play as normal, whoever has the lead by the end wins.  If not, keep going.
regulation football is already too long. plus i think that some of those linemen could possibly die if it went to a second ot.

NCAA does it like an NHL shootout, but if the teams score the same amount of points for two rounds, then teams must attempt 2 pt conversions on all touchdowns.

I just don't think sudden death works for Football.

Packers gave that game away.

Onside kick was comical. How do you f that up?
Two point convert by Seattle was comical. At first thought it looked like a failed hailmary or Wilson was just throwing the ball away.

Oh... So it shouldn't be sudden death. I'm with you on that.

Brady!!!!  Terrific Tom leads the Patriots to a rout of bad luck Andrew and the Colts, 45-7, and a berth in Super Bowl XLIX against the NFC Champions Seattle Seahawks, who stunned the Packers in OT to claim their victory.

Super Bowl XLIX will be played Sunday February 1st in Arizona.

Tom Brady is a liar... Really Tom.. You had no idea..Please..stop.. just be honest. this organization is just a shady group from top to bottom..

Seriously, how is it that the NFL isn't the one regulating and distributing the game balls?

I'm simply a casual fan (and I use that loosely), but having each team supply game balls tailored to their liking, albeit "complying" within league specifications, seems downright silly.

Every play the refs touch the ball...no one noticed anything? Its not like the Pats got a slight advantage because of this, Pats were a far superior team than the one man Colts. I love Andrew Luck but Brady would have shredded that defence with a beach ball.

Yeah the ball didn't matter a bit with this game.. and yes other QB's do it and have but hadnt been caught.. But rules are rules and with the Pats history of spy gate and always trying to push the envelop it is a bigger deal. Belicheck has the history of cheating with spying on other temas to cheating on his wife which was ugly.. for him and Brady to get up and deny it is just so not beleiveable. Brady has previously admitted he likes the balls a littel deflated. He knwowsthe differnce between a regulation ball and ones that have been deflated 2 lbs.. He handles them all the time..just admit it say your sorry take the fine and move on..or say no comment..which is admitting you know without saying the words.. What did the ball fairy deflate 11 of the 12 but not touch the Indy ones?

So any picks for the super bowl Boston Leaf?

As a Niner fan I hate the SeaChickens. But I cant help but acknowledge how well they play as team.

Brady vs Sherman should be a good matchup. Let's see if Brady throws his way.

Well I am with you. I've been a Niner fan all of my life as well so I too despise the Seahawks, their coach etc. But they are very talented. Living in Boston and true to form of hating the local teams, I despise the Patriots.. I hate Belichek and every thing about them. So it is the lesser of two evils. I think Seattle wins like 20 - 17. If NE does win I wouldnt be surprised but I dont know if they have played a team like Seattle...

I'm not so sure the refs didn't notice. Each team plays with "their" footballs on offense. It has been reported by some media outlets that the officiating crew at some point during the game had Brady using the Colts-supplied footballs. If that report is true it would indicate the officials had picked up on something out of the ordinary with the footballs supplied by the Patriots and took them out of play.

Now if the NFL officials and game day staff on the Colts sideline can both identify that there was something amiss with the footballs, you can't possibly believe a veteran HOF QB was oblivious to the look and feel of an underweight football?
The logical conclusion would be that Tom Brady is lying!

I'm disappointed in Tom Brady that he would go so far as to "cheat" this way.  I don't wish to believe Tom's a desperate cheater, but, hey Brady, say it ain't so.I still like Brady as a person and a quarterback, but as a player, I'll reserve judgement though some respect is lost here.

deflategate is the biggest load of crap.  i dont much care for either finalist but after this week i hope the patriots win.  why is it a teams responsibility to make sure the balls are fit for use. its crazy.  if they did cheat it was because they could. the nfl and their officials dropped the ball again. as an aside, the only difference between carl lewis and ben johnson was that bens drugs were detectable. 30 yrs later one is a bum and the other is a hero. ultimately doping control couldnt catch it all. like lewis the pats have done nothing wrong and you cant prove it so time to move on....... i guess the nfl is punishing the pats by letting them gets pestered for 2 solid weeks and distract them from sb preparation.

Robert Kraft demanding apologies from the NFL if they don't prove anything.  It was amusing.  The Patriots were caught dipping into the cookie jar before with Spygate.  If a player called out the NFL like Robert Kraft did I feel like they wind up banned from the league.

In other amusing news, Marshawn Lynch was fined 20K earlier in the year for grabbing his crotch during a game.  The NFL is now selling that photo on their store for $150.  Keep being awesome NFL front office.

What is Marshawn Lynch's problem with the media? Yesterday at media day every question was answered with "I'm here so I don't get fined". A few weeks ago every question was met with "I'm thankful".

He is a super star running back. Why is he acting like this? I don't buy the whole introvert schtick.

The media is awful? Fundamentally anti-player? Inane and superficial?

Honestly, at this point I wonder why more players don't do it.

I don't know what you're talking about, the last Marshawn Lynch PC I saw was great:
