2015 MLB ALDS - Texas Rangers (88-74) @ Toronto Blue Jays (93-69)

The odds on that ball hitting that bat must be so so small. How many times do you even throw a ball back over a season and that doesn't happen

This is honestly insane to me.

At the very least he was on the edge of the batters box.

He called it a dead play, and apparently it's non-reviewable. Then it's overturned, Then it's reviewed. Seems a ridiculous play to give away a series on but apparently it's within the rules...

The announcer saying that this is exactly the same as the pitcher dropping/missing the throw should be thrown into the sun.

God damnit they just showed the audio of the ump yelling "no, no, no" as he was waving his arms calling it off.

In technical fairness, noone was getting to that ball in time to throw out Odor on that play but still.

The ump called time-out well before Smelly got to the home plate. So screw whatever the actual rule involving the play, the ump called time-out how can you count a run that happened after a time-out was called?

That's my issue with is. The ump called and waved the play dead. If that doesn't happen, it's the right call, sure. But, when the ump calls and waves it dead, that stops the action. I'm sure there's a rule in there about that that was ignored or miscalled.

Well no, "technically", we'll never know that because he called the Jays off from making that play.

But yes, of course they weren't getting him out.
