Also not fully healed from the suspected high ankle issue.

Which is encouraging going forward because he played quite well in the playoffs.  When he's back to 100% for October I look forward to a big year from Rielly.

Pretty sure Babcock has decided on Rielly's role now and will be slotting him behind Matthews' line as often as possible, which will mean ridiculous amounts of offensive zone time (#goals), and a goal against every once in awhile. Team North America + Willy lives on.

Hyman:
When it comes to playing without the puck, I?d argue that Zach Hyman?s one of the best players on the team.

Unfortunately, the biggest weakness in his game is when he does have the puck...

JvR:
Hockey?s version of a designated hitter, JVR is fantastic offensively and pretty horrendous defensively...

My kingdom for a way to merge these two into the ultimate winger.

Pretty sure this thing could get it done.

Ya, I had the same thought.

Though it's just done in fun, they admit that the whole rationale behind the rankings is skewed. Yet they proceed anyway.

Come on...

How is play away from the puck measured, anyway?

It's the amount of time you play without the puck.  Which in Hyman's case is a alot.  But it's not all his fault when you consider his linemates are Nylander and Matthews.

You know, watching more of these playoffs I really have a hard time believing that the Leafs couldn't beat most of the teams still playing right now. 1 extra point is all we needed to avoid that Washington first round match-up. That really stings.

"Parity, dear Miss Prism, parity!"

Hey I said "most"! But yeah Pittsburgh and Nashville would be the two teams I'd be worried about. Although a Letang-less Pittsburgh is still beatable I think, and Rinne would have to stay on whatever planet he's currently playing on until the Finals for Nashville to be unbeatable. That's not to say that I think both teams wouldn't be a massive challenge for the Leafs, but in a 7-game series I don't think they'd be impossible to beat without Letang and Rinne coming back down to earth.

But man, to think that one of Ottawa or New York is going to be playing in the Eastern conference finals? That could have easily been the Leafs if they just had an extra stinking point.

Would that not have severely diminished our chances at Brannstrom?  8)

Lou would have just sent out a league-wide memo stating that they were taking him at 30th and that would have been that.

You know what, maybe the Pens wouldn't have been that tough to beat after all. Washington is seriously exposing their D right now and Fleury just isn't good enough to cover for their mistakes.
