I think that Calgary's done a really good job with their goalies. The draft seemed to overshadow the Elliott trade but it was huge. And Johnson's a solid backup.

I heard quite a lot of "mid-round pick" chatter on social media this summer when people discussed potential logjams the Leafs have at forward and who might have been moved at the draft.

That would be a typo. It's definitely 2 years, $5mil total ($2.5mil AAV).

Well, Vanek is older and just bought out ( which I think is more of a reflection of the Wild currently ) and might be 'ok' with taking less term and money to sign with a decent team and organization. Martin's contract is probably as good as it's going to get for him, Vanek could have a good year and draw a lot more next year.
