Habs are really going to miss him. Surprised they couldn't do this.

Kopitar-Danault down the middle is pretty formidable.

Both Schwartz and Granlund get a lot more money for a lot more years than I would have guessed they would.

Big money for a guy who likely ends up in the 3rd line in the near future.

eh... I don't see his game falling that much. He's a solid C. And having Kopitar in front of him will make his life easier.

The only questionable thing about this signing is if LA can put a good enough team around these guys to get them back into the playoffs. In a weak Pacific division anything's possible but they'd need Quick to rebound seriously or get another goalie to play alongside him.

It's more that he's likely to get passed by at least one of LA's high-end C prospects - like Byfield - in the next couple years.

Ah, that's fair. Wasn't considering that. Still even if Danault drops to a "3C" spot in that case he'll still be one of the top/most valuable ones in the league.

Feels like kind of a strange, tentative free agent market at the moment. Some bigger names have moved but lots of teams haven't done anything yet.

Wonder what Colorado was offering. That doesn't seem like that bad of a deal.

No but you maybe think they're looking ahead a few years where they may be paying their top 4 players between 35-40 million.
