I think seeing the other two changes get implemented to the NHL as well would be cool but the delayed penalty one is probably the only one that has a realistic chance of seeing the light of day here.
Rob said:It sort of does. The team can pull their goalie and add a skater on a delayed penalty with no real repercussions since as soon as the offending team touches the puck play is blown dead. I guess that gives them an advantage, and if they score, they have taken advantage of that man advantage therefore justice has been served.
Carry over to where? You talking about extending the game until the penalty would expire?L K said:I still would like to see penalties matter late in a game. If you take a delay of game or crosschecking penalty with 40 seconds left in a 1 goal game, there is potentially incentive to take a late penalty to kill momentum and not leave enough time to get the PP set up. If there is PK time left on the clock in a 1 or 2 goal game I'd like to see the PP carry over for the full amount.

Yep. Maybe only if it's a one goal game but if you take a penalty with less than 2 minutes left in the game, you face the entirely of the penalty.

I don?t like the idea of extending the game, but I get where you?re going with this Minor penalties in the final minute should be a penalty shots. Majors in final two minutes should be a penalty shot and the power play.
Yup, they wouldn't call anything.Bill33 said:Any judgement call late in a close game that would result in a mandatory penalty shot will simply result in the bar raised even higher than it is now.

As well, this protects the Russian players/families & those players who have personal or religious objections. Finally something that the NHL got correct. There is no way 100% forced player compliance would happen, nor should it happen.
