Weren't the Leafs in similar situation a number of years ago where New Jersey did something we were pissed off about and the Leafs hence forth missed the play offs?

That was way, way, way, way back in 2007 (Bryan McCabe still played!) and the Devils started their back-up Scott Clemmensen instead of Brodeur in the final regular season game against the Islanders. Wade Dubielewicz won the game for the Islanders in a shootout and put them in 8th place over the Leafs.

Really not the same thing. Fans were certainly unhappy that Brodeur didn't start (the game was meaningless to New Jersey) but it's not like the organization would have had any gripes.
We all knew Duby was going to poke check except the bloody shooter.

Booo capitalism

That's a bit unfortunate. Although in this day of information and technology I'm sure something will replace it soon enough. Puckpedia for instance has all the same data really, but lacks a bit more in the tools. Armchair GM in particular is the obvious one, but looking now they're already promoting that it's coming soon.

It's not the first site to go private so another will show up but it's too bad.  I really liked the layout of capfriendly.  I'm more surprised that there is value in this kind of site in 2024.  This is all information that the league should be providing to teams.

The Ottawa/Vegas NTC debacle was something that should never have happened if the league had a centralized record that all teams can freely access.  That's something that a competent organization should have available.  The details from CapFriendly are all contract based and all stuff that should be registered and logged.  It feels like its more of a fan content thing than something that teams should want/need.

Evidently the NHL awards show was on tonight. Huh.

I?m not joking at all, the last NHL award show I watched was in 93 when Gilmour was up for the Hart. I?m pretty sure I have the vhs recording of it somewhere. Haven?t watched one since.

I literally had no idea. I had to google the results. The draft is today/tomorrow at the Vegas sphere apparently.

Nothing and I mean nothing could have beat the Biden/Trump debate.  Amazing how much Biden has disintegrated.
When they got into a pissing match about their golf handicaps I truly am worried about the fate of the US.

I thought that was an SNL skit last night... mortifying!

Stephen Peat died due to an unspecified accident.  Another former enforcer whose life after hockey spiraled down into despair and, ultimately, an early end.
