We wouldn?t be the only ones thinking that and others have higher picks, but we have a higher chance of actually signing him.

Confirmation of the 5th S: Showtime!

Cole Beaudoin, C
6-foot-2, 210 pounds
Barrie (OHL), 67 GP, 28 G, 34 A, 62 PTS

Beaudoin tops this list not just because he has all the tools the Leafs desire, but because they have shown extra attention to him through his draft season and after the NHL Combine.

There were multiple players, including others on this list, who were invited to Toronto to tour the practice facility the day after the combine ended in Buffalo. But very few met members of the Leafs brass like Beaudoin did.

Just pointing out, since these things tend to fly a bit under the radar at this time of year, that Connelly has some rather red flags off ice.
 
T-minus 30 minutes before the draft kicks off. Unlike last year, there has been a significant amount of moment in the first round already. Multiple teams trying to get into the top 5 or top 10.

Surprisingly decent pace to the picks relative to previous drafts. 4 picks in 25 min.  Is every team going to call in a cameo pick announcer?

Honesty I don't hate this draft format with a few people coming out to make the picks.  It's adding spectacle unlike previous years where 14 kids of the owner are on the stage to make the pick
