4 Pittsburgh Penguins vs 5 Philadelphia Flyers

One of my colleagues just mentioned that Fleury took a hit to the head in something like the 3rd last game of the season and hasn't been the same since.... True?

Reimer for MAF?

Maybe, but he has a career SV% that is barely over .900 in the playoffs.  This is abnormally bad for any goaltender so I think it might be a little bit of excuse making.

Flyers have done a really good job of keeping the Pens to the outside today. Bryzgalov hasn't really been tested all that much.

Well that's it for the Pens. Pretty disappointing, I watched this game (after the missing the previous ones) expecting fireworks but Pens were flat.

So depressed its over.

It's been the best hockey in a decade.  Hits, fights, goals.  and nothing dirty IMO.

I am becoming a big fan of Giroux.  I know its philly winning but they deserved it, they were the better team.

It was a grueling 6 game series, they just didn't have much left and the Flyers were able to calm down after Fleury imploded yet again.

Bryzgalov goes 4-2 to "help" Philly win the series while putting up a .871 SV%

Didn't see that coming. Refs really stayed out of the game too. I bet the Flyers don't have much left in the tank though.

Giroux looks like the best player in the league, unbelievable talent and obvious thirst for the big stage. Phily could end up playing almost anybody in the 2nd round, if FLA wins and one of Bos/NY gets knocked out, the Panthers will be easy pickings after facing the Pens to reach the final 4. I really don't want them to win the cup but they are legit contenders to come out of the East if Ilya settles just a little bit.

Yep, before the season me and a Flyers fan friend of mine were arguing about Giroux vs. Grabovski and I kept saying how he was underrating Grabovski and Giroux wasn't THAT much better. I admitted I was way-off the very next day, but he still never let me forget it all year, as Giroux turned into (yet another) Philly superstar.

My wish was to see a Pittsburgh-Washington or Pittsburgh-Boston matchup at some point. Disappointed that there will no Crosby in the continuing playoffs.  Flyers??!!  I ain't cheering for them!

Never thought I'd say something like this, but a Flyers fan has it right. Photo in the Sun today of a Flyer fan holding a sign up at the rink.

Picture of Crosby with a Nukie in his mouth, sign's addressed to Cindy Crysby and tells him to dry his tears. Pretty much epitomises what I don't like about him. Just shut up and play. I used to think Gretzky was a big whiner, but Crosby's ten times the whiner he ever was. Yikes.

I just watched 2 games in the Coyotes series live and watched Toews speak to the officials after every play where there was a questionable action.  I wonder why no one talks about Toews "whining" all the time??

Was anyone else thinking as I was that Pittsburgh was actually going to come back and win this series?  I got the sense that Pittsburgh was playing with the attitude of, "Okay, play time is over...", and that Philly looked completely vulnerable.

I suggested it earlier in this series, but if Philly can actually get some good goaltending from Bryzgalov, they'll be a tough team to beat.  I can't think of a more intimidating arena to play in right now.

I don't even know what people mean when they say Crosby whines a lot. Most of his interviews are the same generic, white-bread nonsense any other hockey player gives. They don't hear what he says on the ice. He's not diving around like the Canucks.

I honestly just think it's a by-product of the attention he receives. Everything he does is amplified and blown up. I think a good example of this is the amount of ribbing he took for living with Lemieux his first few years in the league when, as we're sort of learning via 24/7, younger players living with older players is common to the point of routine.

I don't really understand how people can say he whines a lot as well- I'm not really a fan of Crosby in the sense that I cheer for him or the Pens, but he has one of the best games in the league and tries to defend himself on the ice by battling hard. I don't see what's whiny about that.

I've heard a lot more whining about Crosby being whiny then Crosby doing it himself.
