4 Pittsburgh Penguins vs 5 Philadelphia Flyers

I can't even believe this series.

At least if Pittsburgh is going to get eliminated they are going to give poolies a full 4 rounds worth of points in one series.

I need this series to end, already.  It's killing me in my pool - no players from either team.

Pens-Flyers have combined for as many goals tonight (13) as entire #LAKings - #Canucks series thru 3 games. #hnic

More goals than the Washington/Boston series through 3 games.

45 goals in this series. 46 total in the other Eastern conferences series.

Not so surprising stats of the day:

- 12 of the top 14 scorers (5 points or more) are from either the Pens or Flyers.
- The 4 worst golies in terms of save percentages and GAA are from either the Pens or Flyers

I would take Mike Smith over Bryz anyday.  When you add the salaries it's really a no brainer!!  God I hate Bryz!!

Dude I'll give you credit.  You called it last year when some of us were defending Bryz in the dessert.

One major prob with Bryz is that he really isn't a team player.  The players on the Coyotes would go to war for Mike Smith and the mutual respect is very apparent.  I can't say I ever saw that from Bryz and certainly have not seen it in Philly.  After Bryz left Doan even bad mouthed him and if you know Doan he just doesn't ever do that.  They are gonna regret that contract unless Bryz really changes his attitude, he is still a good goalie, but he needs to make himself a better team player.

Flyers looked a bit worried in their post-game interviews - anyone else pick up that vibe?

They should be and they won't win this series.

Anyways, for a team being so vocal about headshots the Pens sure do alot of them. So far MAB, Schenn, Coots, Giroux, and Grossmann at the minimum have either been hit or targeted for a headshot.

The pens will win now for several reasons.
1. Flyers horrible goaltending was only partly covered by Fluery's.
2. Neal comes back on Friday in Pittsburg and gives the team a big boost plus Fluery went two periods without giving up a goal which helps him mentally. With the Grossmann headshot he is done and was a big part of keeping Malkin and Crosby down. Pens win game 5
3. The Flyers are horrible at afternoon games (Sunday). Enough said Pens win game 6.
4. Back in Pittsburg for game 7 and after coming back 3 down the Pens will be rolling.
5. The NHL suddenly changed the rules by starting to enforce them. Just be doing that mid series changes everything.

I like the inverse relationship!

The Pens PK is absolutely terrible. Philly is moving the puck around at will. Fleury seems to be playing a little better tonight.
