AllHockey.Ru: Leafs looking at Radulov

Friedman reported earlier the following teams' interest:
Colorado (favourites), Detroit, Florida, Washington

Today:

Rumour has it... that Florida is no longer gunning for Radulov due to the McCann trade, and that the Leafs are kicking tires. Jeff Veilette of LeafsNation disagrees based on his sources.

This seems to me to likely be coming from his agent rather than the Leafs. You know the old use the Leafs and the ensuing extra media coverage to raise the price routine.

Maybe I'm wrong and they really are interested, it just doesn't seem like a fit from where I sit.

I don't think being interested means much. I'd like it if the Leafs at least did their due dilligence on him and looked into what they could expect from him and what he might sign for. If he could be a low cost add then he could be a good guy to flip at the deadline.

I'm inclined to agree, based on his past behaviour. I'm also open to seeing if he has truly changed. He has grown up quite a bit since those early days.

At this point, I'd pass on him.  We've got enough prospects that just might be NHL ready.

In some ways, Radulov is a similar situation to Stamkos - if he's looking for a big money, long-term commitment, it's not the point in the process to bring a guy like him in. However, in the unlikely even he's looking for a one year deal to prove he can still be a top flight NHL player and a good citizen, it might be worth it. If he has a good year, he'd be a great trading chip at the deadline. I just don't see him going for that.

I really hope we've moved on from looking at Radulov!  Don't want him, don't need him. End of story.

FriedgeHNIC: Alexander Radulov could not find an NHL team willing to pay his asking price. He has signed with KHL Salavat.

Radulov's agent says there isn't a deal with a KHL team.

Also this from the Salavat GM:

"Alexander (Radulov) did not sign any contract with" Salavat "Only if bypassing me and I just do not know -. Said Vaysfel'd on the phone -. The interest in it, I think there are all teams of the KHL, but not at all enough financial opportunities. "
"I do not know where did this information," - said the agency.
