Asking price for Tyler Bozak appears to be a second round pick

Nice of the media to turn up the "value" of Bozak. To be fair he's doing a good job on his own, I think not seeing every teams shutdown pair on a nightly basis is helping with that too.

?You know the enemies, right? You know how they play. He?s such a good playmaker. I think he was making Phil better too.?

So in reality, the Leafs used Bozak to inflate Phil's value prior to trading him. Absolutely brilliant!!

Deployment is definitely helping. I've always found Bozak to be good in transition and on the cycle (very tenacious on OZ puck recovery), but a liability away from the puck. He's shown development this year in that regard (thanks, structured system and actual coaching!).

Good to see him own up to cheating on offense too.
Babcock has pressed him to improve his play without the puck.
?I?m a big believer that you can play real well without the puck (rather than) have the puck all the time and always be on offence,? Babcock said. ?And I believe there?s another way to do it ? you can cheat for offence and end up minus every single year. I like the other way because it leads to winning.?
Bozak explained it as breaking bad habits, such as playing it safe when the puck gets rimmed off the glass rather cherry-picking for a potential odd-man opportunity. ?For me, I?ve always kind of been a guy who cheats a little bit to offence,? he said. ?I think a lot of guys do growing up. When you?re getting points playing at earlier levels you don?t get exposed as much doing things like that.?

TO has traditionally, since the lockout, been a first half team Kessel, JVR and Bozak have put up the majority of their points in the first half, the 2nd half, well.

Let's hope they were toxic together, and are free of that toxic relationship/performance apart.

Bozak has had to play the best I've ever seen him play to simply match previous stats while with Kessel.
