Line-up Notes

CHI
?Crawford will start for Chicago after missing about a week and a half with an upper-body injury
?JVR vs. TVR, as Trevor van Riemsdyk will play against his brother for the first time in the NHL

TOR
?Reimer likely starts, although since Bernier wasn't exactly busy the past 2 games you never know
?The surprise injury to Lupul left the Leafs with just 12 forwards, so expect someone to get called up tomorrow and likely replace Frattin in the line-up
?Going back to 7D for a game is also an option with Percy around

Injuries

?Daniel Carcillo - Lower Body - Injured Reserve
Code:

?Brandon Kozun - Ankle - Injured Reserve
?David Booth - Foot - Injured Reserve
?Joffrey Lupul - Life - Injured Reserve

They play Arizona on Tuesday and Colorado on Thursday. They never have only one game per week.

That's next week. Pretty sure this is their first and only game this week.

It's not often you're right on hockey related matters sir and you're wrong again.

Once again those are NEXT WEEK'S games.

Upon further review the Leafs played the Sabres & Colombus's AHL team this past week so in a sense I was right - tonight against the Hawks is their first game this week.

Good save, good save.  ;)

To be fair I shat the bed on the set-up  lol

Percy down, Carrick up.

Hopefully, it's Frattin that comes out to make room, not Ashton. One was clearly the better player last night.

I wasn't expecting the Frattin of 2013 but he doesn't even look like 5% of that player.  At one time he had bursts of speed and would be good for a few chances a game (granted, playing with Kadri helped that).  He doesn't seem like he has any speed left at all.

Basically. He looks like easily replaced, marginal NHLer roster filler right now. He had a good 10 game stretch 2 seasons ago that a lot of people seem to like to point to, but, that's pretty clearly an outlier performance now.

sad to see Frattin playing so poorly. Carrick deserves the chance with the effort he expends, the puck seems to follow him around, always the sign of a good player.
Time for my pre game valium.

It should be noted that his AHL start hasn't been great this year.

Lines from Paul Hendrick:

JVR-Bozak-Clarkson
Winnik-Kadri-Kessel
Komarov-Santorelli-Holland
Panik-Carrick-Ashton

1) I absolutely love how the media still lists Bozak as the first line.
2) I'm a little surprised that Carrick got the call-up. Still think that he's just a guy who had a good training camp and that's it. Hopefully he works out here though.

From McKeen's Gus Katsaros, Hockey Director of Analytics & Pro Scouting:

@KatsHockey

Carrick picked up where he left off & has been solid this season too despite the lack of point production. One could argue he is NHL ready.

I wonder how much of it is mental with Frattin. I know he was a troubled young man in college where he made some rather poor decisions. I wonder if seeing a sports psychologist might help him refocus?
