@warwalker Maybe Burke firing was supposed to happen last April; ownership delegated job to Bell/Rogers installation dept, just got around to it today.
;D
This was pretty funny.

Me too, but the timing.... the timing is just so bizarre. They've had since July to do this. But today?
I'm kind of with Nik, certainly when we haven't heard any reason for this yet. It gives the new guy a fresh start and if there were "issues" between Burke and management, they certainly didn't want that going into a new season.

Sources say no recent incident led to Burke's firing. New ownership did not like his "style".
RyanSH12 said:Burke as pres so the Leafs can keep Nonis with the club and make Nonis the GM?
Nik Pollock said:But there's also the reality of the lockout. Firing Burke during the lockout, or right before the lockout, didn't make any sense either because he'd then be every media member's #1 phonecall. The last few days have been the new ownership's first chance to really address the club with the idea that there's going to be a season.

we know after all, that SN and TSN owners know how to run a fantasy league.

That they're right? That the guy who half-donkeyed it got fired?
