Can the Leafs Beat Boston?

I think we can win both.  Tall order, but the Bruins aren't direct descendents of Zeus, you know.

They aren't but they're in a fight with us for who sits atop Mt. Olympus. - The champs will come properly motivated.

I'm sure it's possible, as in it's not like trying to man a mission to Jupiter, but is it probable?  I have my doubts.  I just hope *we* can compete hard.  :D

Sure they can, Gus gets a strong game to rebound from that 7-1 loss, and Reimer is back to save the day...

Winning those 2 is the most important thing to do... this week.

I think that armstrong is really missed in these games baecause I recall him getting in the opposing goalies wheelhouse fairly often...brown too.  but the leafs need to make life very uncomfortable for thomas!

edited because I use "we" and I do not play for the leafs

LOL! I always laugh when people use "we" in regards to something they have ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with.

"We won!"

Really? What did you do?

We means its our team. real fans know that.  ;D

Doesn't Andy Frost belt out before each game "YOUR Toronto Maple Leafs!"

as in all things context is key...i don't say "we" in this case cause I have nothing to do with making thomas uncomfortable from my couch at home...thats up to the boys on the ice.

I have no problems with saying "we're #1"..."we won".  but it does make me roll my eyes sometimes when people say "man we played a great game tonight" and they are at home on their laptop.

but whatevs...I'm just nitpicking

love the way the leafs are playing right now and I think they can beat the bruins but they'll have to play their best 2 games of the year so far to do it.

I've invested enough of my life on the Leafs to call them "mine" or say "we" I feel.

you do what you need to...I just thought when I read my post that it sounded goofy so I changed it.

It's never bothered me.  The Leafs are my team and I say "we" and "us" all the time when talking about games.  I can even imagine myself skating down left wing, scoring a goal then hugging Bozak.

Damn, maybe I've had too much coffee but I expect nothing less then 3 points in the next 3 games. I'm calling for 4 though. A split with the 'Ruins and a win over the stRangers.

I think the Bruins are due for a little bit of a dip in their performance, and there's a good chance they'll come into these games a little cocky and over-confident - especially in light of the way they manhandled the Leafs so far this season. While I wouldn't go as far as to say they'll be vulnerable, I do think they'll be beatable. I think a split is likely and a sweep isn't unrealistic. I think the Leafs take 3 of 4 points.

wonder what the lineup will be

with steckel and gunnar both available who sits?

I would personally want to keep aulie in because of his size but I can't figure out which d would sit with gunnar in there too.  I guess franson?

If we get a split out of these two games I'll be thrilled. We just don't seem to do well against hard checking teams that play the trap.
