Yeah it's a good thing there's pretty much no way this will be considered a success, right?

You'd think not but if people are misguided to the point where they really want to bring the Olympics to town then I wouldn't be surprised if they ended up trying to slap a ton of lipstick on this pig.

Closing ceremonies of the Pan Am Games are tonight at 8:00pm ET.
Scheduled entertainers will be Kanye West, Pitbull, and Selena Ryder.  Plus plenty of spectacular fireworks that organizers say will outdo those seen from the opening ceremonies.  Way to go!

Some beautiful pics of the fireworks show emanating from the CN Tower in last night's closing ceremonies of the 2015 Pan Am Games:

Beautiful opening ceremony last night at the new CIBC Atthletic Stadium for the official start of the 2015 Parapan Am Games (from August 7th to the l5th).

Game & events will include sports such as wheelchair basketball, wheelchair rugby, Track & Field, swimming, etc.

These Toronto Parapan Am Games are being billed as the largest yet.

The athletes/participants & competitors are to be commended for their sheer athleticism and perseverance.  Kudos to them!

With all the mis-information and fear tactics being played out in Ontario in relation to the new sex ed curriculum I found this to be quite on point from John Oliver

We're No. 2!

That's right.  Canada,  in a collective international study/survey of sixty nations, we ranked second only to Switzerland, in categories ranging from GDP ( Gross Domestic Purpose ) which inchdes social responsibility, quality of life, and innovation.  Canada also ranked fairly well on gender equality though not as good as it should be, and was considered the best governed country, having weathered throughout the decades the threat of Quebec secession, recessions ( economic ), the alienation felt in the West, etc.

Canada ranked highest in the category of citizenship - - respecting religious freedoms,  property rights,  human rights,  trustworthiness,  etc. ,  as well as in the category of quality of life -- safety,  education,  health care,  political & economic stability, etc.

However, we did not rank highly in the categories of culture (international impact), defence, or on being a world leader, as well as in innovation & technology.

The country is seen as friendly and for it's scenic beauty.

Two minutes for elbowing:
http://www.macleans.ca/news/unsportsmanlike-politics-kerry-fraser-refs-the-thrilla-on-the-hilla/

Fraser makes the call on the meatspace flamewar that took place a few days ago on Parliament Hill.

Trudeau literally spent the entire day apologizing, even during the apology for another government's tragic misstep for drawing attention away from the actual matter he was apologizing for. Pretty much the most Canadian thing to do off the ice.

A few things piss me off about this whole thing:

1) The fact that this is a big deal is absurd
2) The NDP were clearly impeding the PC Whip and moved several times to block his path and they did it intentionally which is stupid.
3) Trudeau clearly went through to try and create a path for the guy
4) The NDP MP is absurd that a glancing elbow caused her to have to leave the caucus.

I like how they act all absurd after this and talk about professionalism.  Politicians act like small children routinely and it's honestly a disgrace when you see it.

I tried to feel outrage about this, but it's too stupid. Anyone who has actually seen the video can immediately tell that the NDP are embellishing outrageously. Unfortunately, certain groups will take this as fuel for their soapbox politics.

Also stupid: Trudeau could've just waited, because the Liberal Whip already sat down and you only need one Whip to vote. He could have also brought up the stall tactics of the NDP to the Speaker without taking the matter into his own hands so literally.
