Call me crazy, but aside from the Tavares incident of course I really don't think Montreal's physicality dictated the game. They were certainly the more physical team (although the official hit counts were pretty sus) and I would like to see guys like Simmonds and Thornton and Foligno throw their body around a little more but we didn't lose game 1 because Montreal out hit us.

I think the plays where Marner and Nylander threw the puck over the glass were examples where they were hurrying the play because they felt the hit coming.  I also saw Sandin make some plays in a hurried fashion.  I think this points to the physical presence the Habs were playing with.
I honestly thought at least one of them was insanely flukey.
For me they were all flukey because this is a team that is composed with the puck.  That lack of composure is what I think the Habs were able to introduce with the way they were playing.  They need to be composed in spite of the way the Habs are playing.

You should experience an audible expression or appearance of excitement, an inward feeling of joy and happiness.

Because that account has a bit of a history of fun troll-y/made-up type posts like that.

I thought the crosscheck to the back of Hyman's head was pretty physical.

It's not like hockey players aren't used to getting pressured by the opposing team. Sometimes it has something to do with it and sometimes it's just bad luck and I really thought that was just weird luck. Like, sometimes shooters miss the net because they're squeezing their stick and sometimes it just happens, there's not a narrative that explains what happens every time it happens.

I echo Steve Dangle here, the chances of 3 puck over the glass calls in a single game again is unlikely.

Not in the playoffs! Only pucks over the glass are penalties in the playoffs.

For me though, Marner doesn't normally takes swipes at pucks like that.  He'll get control of it and make a controlled play.  So something changed his normal course of play there.  Same on the Nylander play.  Normally he would have skated with that rather than just flipping it towards the boards.  Those are just the glaring mistakes that were noticeable because they resulted in penalties that don't normally happen for this team.

I thought the Nylander one looked rushed/forced like he didn't want to get hit. Didn't see the other 2.

It's still the stupidest penalty on the books. Should be just a defensive zone faceoff with no change allowed, like for icings. Icings are as much a delay of game as shooting the puck over the glass. Maybe make the 3rd one in a game a penalty so that teams that do it intentionally face more of a penalty but the current rule is ridiculous.

I like the fact that Engvall is in.  Personally, I would like to see Brooks is as well and sit Thornton.  Brooks would add a lot more speed to 4th line and another centre/PK option.

Also, kind of strange Nash comes out in these circumstances.  Does that mean maybe they overestimated his game readiness?

I'm all in with your 88 puck touch obsession.  I'm glad Rielly had a good game last time but on the PP?  Give it to Willy et al.

Not sure how I feel about this.

I don?t believe this in any way. Their only focus is to win the game.

That would seem to be very out of character for this team. If they're really that focused on Chiarot, the series is essentially over.

Now, if Simmonds and Chiarot should wind up in the corner together, maybe a beat down is in order.
