Coronavirus

Trudeau is clearly tired of the buffoon in charge trying to pass the blame to everyone but his own incompetence with that statement.

Guess who has gone into hiding since his ill-conceived band-aid solution to the problem he let fester on Friday had to be retracted because he got yelled at by every quarter.

My prof had to cancel an exam review this week because she got hospitalized for COVID. Please stay safe everyone.

So Israel has apparently vaccinated/built up enough natural immunity that they've dropped their outdoor mask order and are fully reopening schools. Which, while I know it's hard to see as a positive while we're maybe one of the hardest hit places in the developing world, should be seen as a reminder that with responsible behaviour, vaccinations and good governance there is a light at the end of this tunnel. We just need to work hard to get there.

The Federal Government controls international travel, which has been constant since last September. There are several countries with high and soaring covid cases traveling into Toronto every single day. As incompetent as Ford is and has been, and I agree that he is a buffoon of the highest degree, Pearson Airport remains a major problem that is really hurting the province.

Vaccination appointments were opened up yesterday at 2pm for 35-39 year old age group here. I was on the site at 2 and got myself booked in for 10.20 this morning.

Process was brilliantly organised, I was checked in a few minutes early. Had a quick screening appointment with a nurse to go over my medical history and discuss potential side effects, jab done, and out the door by 10.50. Second appointment is also set for 29th June, so 10 weeks away.

Also the first time I'd been in my hockey team's arena since the last game I saw last February. That was not what I would have thought would be the case during that game.

The premier is too stupid to be able to work from home.  Ignore all of the stuff about his incompetence at managing the pandemic.  If you can't pass computers 101 from Elementary school you shouldn't be allowed to be the Premier of Ontario.

I believe both to be true but self-inflicted technological difficulties is more relatable and palatable than moral cowardice in the face of overwhelming evidence of incompetence (and selfish ambition), so I can see why they'd think this was a reasonable excuse for Ford's disappearance from public responsibility.

Either way, he's getting dunked on.

The media's not playing nice with Ford today.  His entire cabinet declined to take questions from the media after the fact now.  This administration is huge joke.

Yeah Ford can shove off.  This is the 5th day this month I wasn't scheduled to work that I am now filling in to help out.  I'll be doing it again too on Sunday.  I'm absolutely burnt out but I don't blame the kid for getting into the candy bag when you leave it on the floor.  Ford ignored the warning.

Dr. Williams & Yaffe should've been fired after the hot mic incident honestly. It never made sense to say "Hey, you haven't eaten in a year, and now I'm going to leave you this big juicy steak. But seriously, don't eat it." If he can't figure out the effect of mixed messaging then he really shouldn't be the CMOH. An elementary school aged student can understand that concept.

I thought the current thinking was that outdoor transmission was pretty unlikely?
Outdoor transmission is 19x less likely outdoors. And combined with maintaining low number of contacts I really don't see the issue. Larger outdoor groups, sure break it up. But I'm not allowed to see a friend and his dog for a walk once a week because we both live in 2 person households.

I got my first jab today of Pfizer - one of the perks of living in a hot zone, I guess? (albeit, I had to go all the way to the International Centre in Mississauga to get it)
