Coronavirus

I got my first jab today of Pfizer - one of the perks of living in a hot zone, I guess? (albeit, I had to go all the way to the International Centre in Mississauga to get it)
Glad to hear you've got your first!

Just an FYI to any people over 50 living in Peel area...THP is vaccinating people over 50 regardless of postal code.
The website only shows its available for 50 plus year olds in hotspots but I called and emailed yesterday and both people told me to sign up. I don't live in a hotspot..just surrounded by them lol.
There are lots of openings, last I checked, within a few days. I'm going for my jab this afternoon..

Not having a centralized booking system for vaccines is getting to be pretty ridiculous. I know people standing in lines for walk-ins, calling dozens of pharmacies, following twitter accounts in the hopes they can drive an hour or more outside of the city to get one...

A lot of complaints about our government's handling of this may boil down to politics, I would love to hear anyone reduce this to a partisan issue.

I booked through the region, not through the pharmacies and it went surprisingly smooth. I got a shot of moderna on Saturday.

I told the nurse ?this is really well organized? and she said to me ?you know how long it took to get this organized? she wasn?t pleased.

Anyway from the time I walked in and including the 15 minute wait after the shot and I was out of there in 25 mins

My wife went through the process this past Saturday. She said booking was fairly easy and the time at the vaccine clinic was also 25 minutes. She said they were running it like a line at a manufacturing plant. Very efficient.

"We're going to take actions ourselves and we will have the best [paid sick day] program anywhere in North America, bar none."

-Doug Ford, last week

Friendly reminder that one of the first things Ford did as Premier was repeal a Bill that gave the people of Ontario the right to two paid sick days and cancelled a planned increase of the minimum wage. Both of which would have very much benefitted the people Ford has been calling "essential workers" and "heroes" for the past year.

And all his pals gave him a literal standing ovation for doing so.

Trudeau's not completely blameless, though he has mostly righted the ship from his end.

Doug Fraud, on the other hand, just keeps digging in deeper.

He was just doing his best Trump impression, right? Because, words without follow up is classic Trump.

Trudeau is a bigger f up then Ford. We're in this mess because the feds didn't act fast enough on everything. They reacted instead of being pro active.
