Marner playing D is kind of fun but if McCabe hadn't come back we'd be in some trouble.

The fact he can play there and look good is a testament to how good he is.

He seemed to have a slowish start of the season for him
But he's been flying for a while now
 
Woll looked pretty good for his first game in nearly 3 months
Skaters were not so good defensively against a struggling team.

Keefe said Giordano is out with a head injury.
He did not know any more than that.
 
That felt like a pre-streak Leafs game.

Where's Timothy? I read he skated for an hour pre-practice. I want to see him keep his recent progression going and have him confident and peaking come playoffs. I really do believe it's on Keefe to better utilize what he has like he did with Rielly out. If Keefe defaults to a 25-minute Rielly and 4 forwards the team and his job are done.

Of course, but I just lost my father and I'm 40 playing for peanuts, and I just got a head injury?  I'm tempted to call it a career.

There is a reason why he signed here. If the Leafs go on a run I am positive he would want to be around. Hopefully, it's not serious. He's a depth guy at this point and depth is a good thing.

Rielly was 4th in D ice time last night.
 
Timmy may be traded. He is our best chip without giving up the 1st, Mintin, Cowan, Neimala etc.
I love the guy but Keefe is not sold. And Athletic keeps saying its is time for them to make a decision.

Unless some stud Top RD is coming our way, I don't see Liljegren going anywhere. He's at worst a very good 3 RD and still an RFA. Tre said himself today you can't have enough D men.

After the trouble they have been going through to land a RH D last summer and this deadline, and after how well he filled in for Rielly during his suspension, I would be shocked. It would have to be one heck of a deal. Developing dmen takes time, he's just starting to hit that window when young dmen start to get good at age 24. He's a RFA so they have some contract control. I think he's worth more than any of these "1st, Mintin, Cowan, Neimala". They have a window to win with Matthews et al. He can help now and every year going forward. Those others can't.
