David Clarkson

I enlist Franson and Franson, my favourite dance team? Kadri should be on the 3rd line for a while and let Holland onto the 2nd

Pretty sad when the guy that replaced Clarkson in the lineup is actually doing the job better and only making 600K. Hopefully his best hockey is still ahead.

I like to just pretend that Bodie is Clarkson.

And really, who else was available of his calibre?  (Oh no a post with a 100 or more players is coming my way)

But that's where I think JohnK is right. Even if Clarkson was the best example of the type of player the Leafs needed available(and he probably wasn't, Horton was but he wasn't going to sign here) then overpaying him on that basis is toxic to the concept of good team building. That sort of impatience is bad for any team but for a team like the Leafs who aren't all that close regardless it can really be an impediment.

I don't think Randy Carlyle and Dave Nonis invented the idea of overpaying free agents over beers this summer as seems to be some people's conceit but they're as guilty of it in this case as anyone.

I will be thinking about this every time he is on the ice in his imminent return.

I'm just dreading the impact this is going to have on our winning ways as no doubt all our lines will be shifted.

I can picture it now, him zig-zagging all over the ice, wasting his energy with arms flailing all over.

Sure feels like the two best stretches of Leafs hockey have coincided with his suspension and elbow injury.

His upcoming return now coincides with McClement's return to the 3rd line as well, at least temporarily. Should be fun.

Hey Clarkson has be a '+' player six times this season and that's one more then even Colton Orr has been!

In that case, lets park his @ss on the fourth line and demote Orr.

How will we replace Orr's 12 minutes/night??
There was a guy on Saturday night selling beer in the stands that looks like he could be as effective.....and he has beer!

The Leafs could of used a minor leaguer and gave out free beer during games instead.
Better team, free beer.

well David showed something last night that I knew he had and why I loved the acquisition. This is the way this dude can play. Remember dude not dud

are you his mom?

If that's his best game with the Leafs so far as some have said then I'm still not impressed. He got away with a trip that should have been called and his "assist" on McClement's goal was not even an assist. The TB player hit it off Clarkson's stick. Clarkson had no intention of passing puck there. Which seems very typical and something I did not know of him as a player. He's a puck hog.
