David Clarkson

perhaps you meant card trick??

Ooh. Maybe he's a magician, and a hat trick to him involves a rabbit and a secret compartment. That would require a big hat, making it a big hat trick.

No it's a "David Clarkson hat-trick" - 3 shifts without falling over.  Or if he's really up for the game, he might go for a "natural David Clarkson hat-trick."  Not quite as famous as the "Gordie How hat-trick" but, for some players, just as difficult to obtain.

Guys, guys, a David Clarkson hat-trick:

1) Falling down
2) Shooting wide
3) Going offside

All in one shift of course.

This Leafs regime's track record with big money signings in FA is pretty brutal. Clarkson is just another in a long line of failures. They do better when they sign guys on the cheap like Raymond or MacArthur. Once the money comes to the table...lookout. Unless of course, you're the one making the money.

Question is what do they do with this guy now? He really is just a 4th liner at this point. I don't think he should be anywhere higher in the line-up considering what he has contributed so far. The only reason he plays as much as he does is because the GM was the one who handed the contract out. Six more years... :o

Pfft, Clarkson will find a way to do all of those in one play.  Shoots the puck from center ice.  Puck clears the zone.  Clarkson casually glides into the offensive zone.  Kadri tries to bring the puck in and Clarkson falls trying to get back on side resulting in the offside call.

I wish his offsides were caused because of his lack of balance, as opposed to my current theory for why he's always offside: he just doesn't understand the rule.

Must be so gratifying for Clarkson to stroll back into Jersey and show these guys what they're missing

Those were guys nobody wanted.  If you are trying to get a guy others want it is going to cost you so be prepared to pay.

So he no-showed last night too.  What a guy!

He has no other gear.

Just not giving 110%.

This is the most disappointing thing of all.  Others have said things similar: it would be one thing if he wasn't scoring, if the pressure he put on himself was so great that he's psyched himself out.  But there just seems to be a lack of hustle, lack of urgency, and a lack of all the 'intangibles' he was supposed to (or it was just assumed he would) have brought.
