Gardiner is sick, Bozak has lower body injury, Smith has upper body injury. Both day to day. Gauthier, Leivo playing tonight.
As covered in depth here, today is the Holiday Roster Freeze. By calling Gauthier up now, after December 11, the Leafs may loan him back to the Marlies anytime before the end of the day on December 23. He could be in the Marlies lineup for their next game on Boxing Day. If they choose not to send him back, he is with the Leafs until December 28, which is the middle of the Florida portion of their WJC road trip.

I just watched the Leafs Blueprint (Ep. 5) and it showed Bozak walking towards the bus at the end with a hint of a limp favouring the right leg. That was a couple of days ago, and might be something that just caught up to him.
Gauthier over Froese might be a size request coming up against Anaheim, and I'm guessing it's only very temporary.

disco said:Gibson vs Andersen. Our third 'Trade for the California Backup to Be Our #1 Goalie' finally breaks through. In the salary-cap world that's really where you can get one, outside of drafting them. Montreal went through it with Price and Halak, Pittsburgh now dealing with Murray and Fleury.

It's unfortunate that the Habs didn't trade Price at the time.

Weren't a lot of Habs fans super upset that they traded Halak instead of Price too? Or am I remembering that wrong?
Because that was right after his huge playoff run.
Highlander said:Certainly looks like it may be The Last Chance Saloon for Leivo (or a showcase option), and one wonders how much more time and effort they will take in trying to develop Freddie for the potential 4th line career ahead of him.

You are 100% correct. There was a large contingent of fans that wanted to keep Halak and trade Price. The narrative was that Price couldn't handle the Montreal pressure and would never flourish there.
