DavidAlter590 David Alter Dupuis is shown on the active roster but not practicing with the team. Should be interesting to see what comes of this. #Leafs

Are you all happy now?

I am happy, although it still puzzles me as to what they saw in him in the first place?
Boyce has shown that he brings a lot more to the table then Dupuis.

We all know he's produced nothing offensively but is it true that Dupuis has also yet to be on the ice for a goal for? Shocking if true.

Edit: Never mind... Not true.

He wasn't on the ice for an ES goal for (he was for at least one SHG), but he also wasn't on the ice for all that many ES goals against, considering he was only -2.

Pretty good chance we see Mike Brown and Komi tomorrow against Tampa.  I read a tweet that Brown says he feels good and if allowed to play tomorrow, he will.

I know we are frustrated with this hockey club but we have lost a ton of man games due to injury.  If we can get this team healthy, who knows at the very least they may not be so damn aggravating to watch :).

He's also the #1 kill-rate forward on the team while playing close to 3 minutes a game on the PK.  Our penalty kill is awful, but he's giving up an a goals and a half less/60 minutes of PK time than the Leafs do when he isn't out there on the PK.

Yeah. He may not have contributed anything on the offensive side of the puck, but, at the same time, he may have also been the team's best defensive forward.

I've posted all the statistics already. Dupuis' penalty killing contributions line up quite nicely with the other top penalty killers in the league. He was hardly the problem. And it's not like our PK has suddenly improved with him out of the line-up.

As for not contributing anything to the team 5-on-5, I have no doubt in my mind he was our most defensively responsible 4th line, and easily one of the most defensively responsible players on the team. 3 even-strength goals against in 30 games is among the lowest in the entire league (even when averaged out for ice-time).

If the Leafs assign him to the minors it'll honestly be mind-boggling that they decided that it's better off having Rosehill and Orr on the roster instead of him.

Hope they sign another enforcer so he can sit in the press box.

Or list Orr on the roster twice so he can collect that pension quicker and retire.

Maybe Burke is working on a trade to bring a really good penalty killer or something, because as CTB points out, he is hardly the problem with our PK. I doubt it's to just play Rosehill and or Orr over him.

The thing is, unless the guy he's bringing in is a guy who plays top 6 AND is a good penalty killer, it's not going to be an improvement, and giving up assets to get minor improvement seems like a big waste.

It's funny, fans screaming for defensive responsibility and it's Dupuis that gets waived.

It's kind of sick really, hope there's a method there.

My guess is this move is much more closely related to Brown and Komisarek being close to returning, and wanting to keep Kadri and Frattin with the big club.
