Euro 2012 Thread

3-0 Spain.

Italy's in trouble.  I have a feeling Trappatoni will have Ireland playing their hearts out against his country so he can regain some pride.

If Croatia draws with Spain 2-2, Italy can beat Ireland whatever they want and the tournament will end for them. Pretty stupid they did not scored more in the first half against Croatia. Like against Spain, they were a better team, but took only a point. Stupid Balotelli... if there were Inzaghi or DelPiero, they would have been up 3-0...

I can see the 2-2 fix being on against Italy just like another Euro (can't remember if it was 2008 )

Edit: just looked it up it was 2004 with Sweden/Denmark tying their final game 2-2 to magically nullify Italy's final game result.

*Sigh*.  Now Italy needs help in the final game to go through.  They never get help.

Gli Azzurri sure could have used more offensive help.

Balotelli and Cassano have great skill, they just haven't worked out in the 2 games so far.  Those two players should be able to provide you with all the offense you need.  Oh well, guess we'll see if Mondays games fall in their favor.  Being raised in an Italian family I fully expect a "fix" to be on between Spain and Croatia where they magically tie 2-2.  We think everything is fixed.  ;)

There's an absolute downpour in Donetsk. The ref has pulled France and Ukraine off the pitch 4 minutes into the game because of lightning in the area. Looking at another 40 minutes delay in order to give the rain a chance to let up and the pitch to drain a lot of the standing water. Last time I saw something like this was last year in the Canadian Championship final 2nd leg between TFC and Vancouver. That match had to be called off as the pitch was too water logged to continue.

Its a new stadium - should have proper irrigation systems in place. The lightning was directly overhead there for a while...

Working from home today, was going to tune into the game over lunch but nooooooooooooooo.  Man what a downpour.

well the second half of that game proved to be a lot more interesting ...though it seemed pretty sloppy through the first 20 min or so ...i think getting down by a goal helped england in a strange way ..it seemed to make them take some chances

Out of nowhere, Greece go ahead 1-0 vs. Russia right at the end of the first half.

That was hilarious and insane at the same time. What a giveaway for the break.
